I dont agree with Gilbert young basketball players are always critiqued about their play by parents, family members, coaches, trainers etc its just that once they get to the nba its on the biggest stage on tv/social media and as a player you can have a game where you played hard and did what you think was your best then someone comes in and finds a list of things to critique about your performance so as a player its frustrating to listen to that. Also now with social media players have followings and a way to share their opinions on what the media says about them and not like the old days where they just had no choice really but to accept what the media says about them.
I like how we stopped using ben simmons as an example when we bring up this topic. Gil said before that he thinks a lot of these guys don't LOVE basketball they love the lifestyle.

The thing is accountability! Most of them have NEVER dealt with that before publicly and by so many when it’s about their game they end up feeling exposed publicly and the get defensive!
