I got a letter from another golf club.
I wont spoil it by recounting it here – you will have to watch it.
All I can say is I almost fell off my chair and am extremely humbled by it. Also incredibly grateful.
Now I must compose a suitable response.

10 pound doesn't sound bad when compared to $55/Hour @ TopGolf. But I hear you. I have a net and foam practice balls. Thats my preferred method of practice these days.

This is what I get from your channel. I found you because I wanted to see what Painswick golf club was about. I saw your channel and subscribed from there on in. I often holiday in Pembrokeshire and your Newport / Cardigan vlogs were up and gave me options.
You are a champion of regular courses. This to me Is what your channel is about (although I know you do more than this 😉) It’s too easy for the main YouTubers to do what I call the Tier 1 courses. Your St Andrews or your Woburns or Celtic Manor etc. Whilst I do one day want to visit places like that, I’m more concerned about the regular guy courses that are the hidden gems and you do this that hardly any other YouTuber does. You film and plot your way round the course so we’ll showcasing the main features as well as you little bit of comedy where you may 3 putt 😉Yes your Monmouthshire series was spot on for me. You essentially did a vlog of a county and for a traveller like me this is a necessity.
Anyway to cut it short you did mention before your op in summer time last year doing a type of YouTube day at West Monmouthshire. Hopefully if you do go back I hope to see you informally there if I can get the time out from work. I have played the Rolls but certainly you sold me West Monmouthshire also. Love the channel Simon and keep up these type of videos.

I hadn't spotted your screen saver, you were really close. I can remember my Dad landing one right on the spot where the hole was, unfortunately it had been moved, but you could still see the border line!! Does that count?

Such a wonderful piece of YouTube moment this my friend.. many congratulations and what a wonderful gesture on their part. All we do at our size of channel is try and do our best to support good at all levels and showcase whatever we find. And to be honoured like this makes it all worth while… (do I get an invite from an honours member now. I have never lost balls there… yet lol)

Agree on the driving range prices. I refuse to pay £8-10 for a bucket and haven’t been practicing as much. I don’t want the fancy screens and ball tracking tech. If I want that I’ll pay for an hour on the trackman. Thankfully with spring round the corner, there is an outdoor range with a bucket for £2.50 that I’ll be getting back to.
