It’s “loose” grip not “lose” grip. One of my biggest peeves is when people get this wrong. Just yesterday I saw a video where someone “looses” their mind. It’s “loses” their mind.

You forgot the most important point… you MUST accelerate through the ball to impart the spin that will get it to check. Even on a shorter shot you take a shorter backswing and accelerate through impact. I’ve seen too many players that do all the other things right but cant figure out why the shot runs out instead of checking up. Its because they decel through impact
