Matthews was not that hyped of a 1st overall pick. There was rumblings leading up to the draft that Laine might even go first that year. Lafreniere was actually much more hyped than Matthews
Not enough credit given to Barkov's dominant defensive play. He sacrifices his own point production to kill penalties, be the first guy back when his team gives up possession, and create space for his teammates. That's the difference between a superstar who makes everyone on his team better versus a guy like Matthews who just wants to score goals. That's the difference between winning a series and going home early.

I was very happy Bedard went to the Blackhawks. I think it's a insult that tropical coasts, and deserts have hockey teams and I am glad he did not go to one of those teams.
