Emoni Bates showed off his shooting skills and pro potential in front of NBA GMs on Day One of the 2023 NBA Draft Combine in Chicago at Wintrust Arena. 6’9 19 year old Bates is perhaps best known for being a high school basketball sensation in his home state of Michigan. He played a year of college ball at Memphis and another at Eastern Michigan. Emoni has been working towards this moment and should move up the NBA Draft boards after his performance. Bates finished second overall in three point shooting percentage.

His jumper is on the slower side release wise, and he definitely doesn't have ELITE athleticism. Defensively a ton left to be desired as well. Could pan out as a solid bench guy.

If he gets drafted + 10/15 it will be better for him. Micheal porter JR was 1# in high school and due to injuries was overlooked. This could be another one of of those situations. But not overlooked because of injury more so off court issues
