  1. They built strong midfield…. The problem Tottenham facing last 3 seasons with their pivot midfield Hoijberg…. Will continue unless they revamp midfield

  2. Simons spot on, means the battle at the top end of the league next season will be immense

  3. Newcastle aren't a team of individuals, they are a team. They have some backing and will add to the squad. Howe will continue to develop the "team" which has some class players. No-one backed them to go top 4, they may end up third. They aren't going to UCL to make up numbers, they will be out to win it and will go close. Write them off but they will back up or better their PL effort this season.

  4. in fairness you could say that about all the teams in league , maybe city and arsenal will struggle to get into top four next season . Its a competitive league . I dont see newcastle slipping. City and arsenal are the ones who need to maintain there winning .

  5. Newcastle are the richest club in the world and if they make the ucl they can attract better players.

  6. If they are allowed to do just a fraction of what city and Chelsea did (in terms of spending) they can win the PL next year. Unfortunately, Manchester and West London are much more important than Newcastle.. for politicians, the PL and the media.

  7. This guy is clueless i used to rate him but his takes always get proven wrong .. to even mention chelsea catching newcastle is a joke, Liverpool core will be another year older, arsenal and newcastle will both spend money this window, the other clubs wont be able to catch them ..city , arsenal & newcastle are now the top 3 clubs in england

  8. Said when Newcastle were taken over, within two years Newcastle will be outspending Spurs, Arsenal, and Liverpool. Next year Newcastle will finish in the top 5 because they will outspend the other clubs, and we'll all have to pretend that the growth is organic.

  9. Nobody expects top four next season… then again nobody expected top four this season… maybe that’s the secret

  10. Every year pundits say this one and that one will be stronger next season, every season a top side underachieves and sacks a manager…

  11. I'd be stunned if we get top 4 next year, id bite your hand off for a cup run and top 6

Love another cup final, think that's possible but you never know

  12. How many players had Newcastle starting at the World Cup? Compared to Spurs,Liverpool, Chelsea etc I reckon not one ,that's why they are in the top 4 same as Arsenal being 2nd I think 2 players starting for there countries at the world Cup Xhaka,Saka, the other teams starting 11s had far more that's the league has been like it is this year ,City are different as they have 2 or 3 international players at every position. These are facts look them up

  13. Simon is right, but I couldn't care less right now, just enjoying the here and now, looking forward to next season and hoping for a top 6 finish and a decent showing in Europe, that'll make me happy.

  14. TIFO / The Athletic did a video on how big Chelsea's issues are. Chelsea are on a knifes edge and Poch is not a silver bullet. Chelsea have nearly 500m to pay over the next 5 years, they have a wage to income ratio that will spike to high 80s with loss of around 200m in commercial revenue and other. They are paying 235m a season on wages, city pay around 160m and that will drop. if Chelsea get it wrong again you are possibly talking about the biggest financial disaster story.

Liverpool will bounce back and I'm not sure man United will get better with all the off the field noise

  15. Agreed, it is going to be difficult for Newcastle, sensible thinking but it will be fun watching how Newcastle rise to the challenge. I wouldnt put it past them.

  16. Everyone keeps saying every season that "but all the teams that underperform will get better!" Well, what if some other teams starts underperforming.. Nobody thought Liverpool and Chelsea would underperform this much this season, but these things happen. Average requirement for top 4 is 68-70 points, this season wil require a higher than usual score for top 4, and yet they will probably make it!

  17. It's funny that's its always the top 6 who get better but other teams like us Brighton villa will just stay the same, maybe just maybe we will get better maybe Chelsea have overloaded themselves with to many players and maybe Liverpool have to much of a rebuild on their hands and maybe spurs are going to continue being the mess they are.

People constantly over estimate the so called big 6. Two of them are painfully average and one is a walking poster for how not to run a football club the other is a team desperately trying to recapture what made them semi decent 3 year ago if not for the money they'd have been long booted out the top spots but now that time is here.

  18. We don't want to just be in the top 4, but we want to be in the top 3, because besides the prizes are better, it also concerns the lottery in the champions league, not meeting big teams, we want to go further at least top 8 in the champions league😍πŸ’ͺ
