  1. Jason Day just ended a 5 year drought— amazing that you named this series 5 years or bust 👍 maybe it takes all 5 years EVEN if it does take all 5 you still will have achieved your goal!

  2. Dude… we're just a few weeks into the actual season, nothing to worry about. You've got tons of time and it'll come together. Your long game and short game are on. The putter will come around. Hell, start a go fund me (or similar). I'd buy stock in Wiltshire Golf.

  3. James, if you are struggling with putting, try a DF 2.1 Putters by Lab Golf, if you don't mind the look, I am using it and it works so well for me.

  4. Putting is my biggest issue currently and I think the hardest skill to self analyse. Constant tinkering plus a dose of the yips isn’t helping nor is solo practice. Professional help needed for me on this aspect for a full analysis of both my technique and the suitability of my putter.

  5. Well that's cool. I play off a 6/7 and quit golf this week. I'm that miserable bastard and it's not cool to infect my partner with my dog shit attitude. Can't even make contact. Literally worth doing other things. I love that you have the mental strength I can't even fake. Keep grinding. I'm rooting for you!

  6. Is flower making an appearance soon? Do the series with flower that way you can push him to be better and have a mate with you as well

  7. Everyday is a fight, a challenge. All thoughts, bad , depressed etc are natural. Also, part of the fight. It is hard. Sport, by its very nature has way fewer winners than losers. So, you have to embrace the challenge. I really believe everyone , at sometime, goes through the same as you. Even happens to amateurs……winning at their clubs etc. Best of luck. Will be fascinated to see what happens next chap.

  8. Just think mate all the good players have had too start somewhere they’ve had bad rounds but they have learnt by it but carried on and got through the shit to get where they are now so chin up carry on and smile 👍🏌️‍♂️

  9. Any good rounds I've had in the past have come off the back of terrible rounds… A low round is coming James!

  10. This is literally what Patreon was made for – get one up. You might not get much but it'll cover petrol or a hostel

  11. It must be a lot harder as Pro/scratch or even low handicap. There's little margin for error so I can imagine it's easy to get down or frustrated. I look at the scores of the low handicap players at my club. They rarely win anything but are having great rounds of golf that I would only dream of as a mid handicap. I'm quite happy to still have some shots on the course! 😅

  12. Good luck at Heythrop, my home course, greens and whole course are looking really good at the moment, only let down by the bunkers although they’d done a little work to them… also wish I felt like it was quite wide off the tee! 😂

  13. Off the tee is highly important but I stress the game of scramble unit as it can save or kill any round. Frustration can also be used against you when looking how far you have come through all the life challenges you have faced. Do the work and go to the course knowing you have worked hard and then let it flow. Play against yourself rather than the players and focus on not allowing to be beat by the course as you go home with your Frustration and the course shines tomorrow once more. We are behind you big dawg 💪 my man 👏👏

  14. If it helps, I live in Yateley so, we use that quote daily. My daughters just taken a job in Taplow so that was hilarious – it’s the little things 🤣

  15. Putting comes and goes… but your ball striking and your improved short game is going to give you lots of chances to make putts. Hitting it like you are now, chipping it closer like you are, when your putting clicks you're going to shoot 65. Don't panic mate. Everyone who watches you is rooting for you. It'll happen. Keep faith in yourself James!

  16. Simon Forsstrom won this week on Tour after 11 trips to Q School. And you are a better ball striker. Deep breaths…. you can do this!

  17. I’ve been watching your channel for a good few years now, and this isn’t your first low.

What we know, but you might not be able to see or believe (understandably), is that you’re a demonstrably better golfer today than you were when you experienced your last low. And you’ll be an even better one when your next low comes – and it will 😖.

Like anyone tracking towards elite level, as the marginal gains you cement get incrementally finer, the effort required to attain them feels disproportionately harder. You’ve just got to double down and push through – and you will. Two of your attributes will see you through: passion and openness. They will keep you keen, committed and on the radar of all and anyone that can help you get your game to the high standards you have set yourself. You know you can’t do it alone.

Building this channel must often feel like a bind given all the work you put into it. But my hope for you is that its continued growth will cause connections and exposure to the people and things that are going to help deliver the fruits of your hard labours.
