When it comes to chip shots around the green, there are some usual suspects. We end up chunking shots, we end up thinning them, and then we end up just getting frustrated. But what if you don’t have hours to refine your short game, like the pros, but there is a shortcut and it is called the wedge trainer. You get instant feedback because if you get too risky, you are going to lose contact from the golf ball onto your arm, which is the objective.
Those bad shots happen because we are using too much wrist. We’re not rotating enough. We’re trying to squirm our way there. The simplicity of the wedge trainer is why I love it so much.
The only goal you need to have is to maintain contact with the device onto your forearm, and all of a sudden with only that intention, your takeaway, you’ll use your core a little bit more. You won’t be quite so handsy. There is beauty in simplicity from anything from five yards to a hundred yards. This really helps your consistency.
