  1. Matthews, Dubas, Keefe and Marner – have it made now & Leafs fans should expect another 7 years of this. Leafs this year – are an average playoff team. In the last 19 years – Leafs were perfect playoff losers. Leafs haven’t had Excellent/Championship players since the 1960’s. It was funny that Leafs ever compared Matthews & Marner to any all time great players.

  2. Mathews is a goal scorer a good one but thats it. Has no toughness. Has no forecheck. Has no backcheck. He is Ovi in 2008 had nothing other than scoring actually take that back Ovi was tough. Mathews is soft. Will see as he gets older if he becomes a more rounded player like Ovi did.

  3. I think the entire Leafs roster haven't looked good at all since the playoff started. A lot of them don't look like they're ready to put everything on the line to win, and that's a shame. I don't know if its the fear of getting injured, but they don't pressure the Panthers at all. The dump and chase crap isn't going to win you the playoffs. It's time to step it up, take some risks, and drive hard at the Panthers like its do or die.

  4. Matthews isn’t even close to mcdavid. I hate when people say that. I can think of 10 guys I’d take before matthews

  5. Didn't he get zero points again in the last game? It's fair to say at this point, leaf land's assessment of him being anywhere near top 3 NHL player is confirmed DELUSIONAL.

  6. No, no, no. The only way that I would keep Matthews as a Leaf past the game tonight is if he proves that he IS THE HOCKEY GOD and drags them back from the brink and DOMINATES right up until raising the Stanley Cup above his head. Then I could say that he is worth every penny of a new contract at $14 million or above.

Otherwise, I would trade him before his no movement clause kicks in and take 5 players back in return, two draft choices, a couple of current NHL'ers and a prospect. For $14 million I could have McDavid, why would I pay Auston that much unless he accomplishes something for the team.

My fear is that Auston will continue to be soft tonight.

  7. The leafs don’t take hard angle shots. Watch the wingers when given good setups at the outside of the circles along the boards in the offensive zone. They sometimes get the goalie out of position and don’t shoot, just shell it back to a d everytime

  8. He is no where near a 10 right now. You know who is a 10? Mcdavid and Dri right now. Put the team on their back and carry it. Thats what is expected of #34.
Last game it was all Marner and Nylander. AM just didnt seem to be all in. I certianly hope he can turn it on.

  9. Matthews is more worried about his clothes than how he plays. Not even close to Mcdavid or Leon. Theres no hunger there. Just laxidasical playing no show in the playoffs. Everyone has to be good to get them back in the thr series. D goaltending everything but they are soft 🍦

  10. I don't understand how anyone could be happy with his performance so far this playoffs. Boggles my mind it's like I'm watching an entirely different game.

  11. Turtle neck Auston should just come out for who he truly is.. He would have a lot less weight on his shoulders if he did..

  12. Is it unreasonable to expect AM34 to have a big game and take over like some of the other big stars in the league have done? I don’t think so. Same goes for 16 88 and 91. These guys are paid to be the best in the league. It’s overdue for them to take over the game and dominate.

  13. it really just looks like Matthews doesn't want to be here…and frankly if this is all he has to give then i hope he moves on.

  14. Are you guys not allowed to trash Auston Matthews. Matthews leads playing soft by example. Great hands, NO HEART.

  15. Austin is not close to Connor. Austin isn’t close to Leon either. Comparing is silly.

  16. AM is playing like he wants to get traded. He doesn’t even look like he’s enjoying himself or cares about the playoffs this season.

  17. Listen all I'll say here if matthews decides to show these mf's who he is tonight onwards we'll be talking about comparisons another time but it's really up to him on how he wants to play tonight I feel lately he's been a Jekyll and Hyde type of guy

  18. Kyper is such a glum Charlie….. I can't wait to watch him HAVE to keep talking about Leafs games. EPIC💯

  19. I'm a Leafs fan. I want Matthews, Marner and Nylander. I wish Leafs fans would chill out. 25 of 32 teams are OUT of the playoffs already. By any standard the Leafs have had a successful season. 79% of the teams are OUT. The Florida series has been low scoring for both teams. Nobody is lighting the lamp on either team in the first 4 games.

  20. The problem here is that people believe he is a Super duper star. He’s at a Steve Stamkos level. Get someone to feed them the puck and they’re great. They are not take charge of a game types like Mcdavid ,Nathan Mackinnon or Crosby.

  21. Leafs dont feel safe. Only one tough guy in the team. You have to surround your talent with tough guys.

  22. Dude gets his chances but just can't finish in the playoffs, but to be fair you can say the same about just about every "elite" player on the Leafs. It's a joke at this point.

  23. Say goodbye to Matthews hes not tough enough to be a leaf player, he wants out, does Mcdavid want out of edmonton or crosby out of Pittsburgh. No they haven't won it a bit!!!!
    Goodbye

  24. THIS LEAFS TEAM AS ALWAYS THEY DONT CARE!!!
THEY DONT WANT IT !!!! WE ALREADY WON 🏆!!!

  25. I’m a Panther fan and I’m watching Matthews on the bench and he looks so disinterested. He looks inconvenienced. I wouldn’t want him on my team.

  26. What are Kyper and Bourne going to talk about now when Toronto is out of the playoff battle? Are they going to be without a job now?

  27. You have your FRANCHISE STAR, your FIRST LINE CENTER, your freaking Maurice Richard winner in while back, that has not only been INVISIBLE the whole round, but got ZERO GOAL?? ZERO?

And still, that dbag on the left say that he's fine? Noting much to do in game 5? (and spoiler, he did jack sh*t). This is…. Dementia.

And then they have the ABSOLUTELY DELUSION to list him with McDavid???? ARE YOU INSANE???
"He lost that spot this year" …

Hm, no. If it actually used to be the case at all (not only according to Leafs fan obviously lol), he lost that status YEARS AGO when he became the NHL's CHOKE MACHINE (and stick boy enthusiast when there's a scrum involving his teammates; what a leader!).

LOOK at the team around him; he does not elevate his teammates, it's the opposite actually. And at the other side of the spectrum, McDavid (+others in the top 5 NHL centers to some degree), could have an average AHLer on the wing and make him a 70 point scorer. Do you see that in Matthew? Don't make me laugh 😛

  28. This ALREADY has aged like a feta cheese and urine sandwich stuck behind a radiator…
