Great podcast! Nice hearing from Dan and look forward to your videos with him. I thought his comments regarding short game practice interesting. A lot of reasons why players don't practice their short game enough. Sure, driving well is sexy but also one aspect is access to practice grounds. Most driving ranges, at least in my area of the US do not have good sort game practice areas. And many golf courses don't either. Guy mentioned how courses have putting greens. But yes, they often do not have room for chipping and short game practice room, and some actually limit those greens to putting only. One thing that I have tried to do is be able to hit a ball X number of paces. I can do that off a mat in my back yard with a net and at least get consistent hitting my clubs a certain distance and can pick my landing area on the green and hit it. I also liked his advice about getting the 60 degree wedge out of the bag. Many other coaches are saying that as well, as it can be an unforgiving club if you really don't use it or practice it often.
Sounds oddly American saying “ for your viewing pleasure.” Lol
Cant wait for the lesson,my head is scrambled got the yips confidence at an all time low which is ruining my game, wish I could afford a lesson with this man 😮
Dan transformed my short game in one lesson
Great Interview! I'll be looking for his book and your follow up video for his lesson.
Dan needs to make more use of his youtube channel!!
Very good video 👍thanks to all involved 😊
Hurry up with the video of the lesson Rick
I think we've finally found Rick's mafia name. 'Screwdriver Shiels'
Favourite interview by far! What a guy Dan is. Just makes you want to go down to the chipping greens to practice
The sound quality was absolutely fine!. Tbh your apologies was for how bad it was going to be was worse 😂
Really enjoyed hearing about short game. My wife and I started playing through OP36 which really the best place to start.
DAN, DAN, DAN, DAN, DAN, DAN!
Done the short game school, bought the book and given a few away,. even helped out when i reached out from living in Dubai, such a great guy!
You need all the help you can get, Cheese. You're probably the worst golfer who claims to be a PGA coach – ever.
Tavistock short game area? That’s a sinister name if you know about the Tavistock institute.
The worst thing that ever happened to my short game as a kid, was getting a 60 degree Cleveland. Yes it was a great benefit when I needed to get it high really fast, but before that I used a 7 or 8 iron using the contours and had a phenomenal short game.
Are we going to see a video of the lesson he gave you?!
The short game is the most important part of the game, the least practiced, and least bragged about. Guys only care about driving distance, swing speed, and who has the longest Johnson. Beat your friends from 75 yards and in, and you will score better than them. Give me the number 1 short game in the world with my current skill level on everything else, and I’m on the PGA Tour. I would be the shortest off the tee, miss the most greens, and so on. Lol
Talking about the right mindset and the simple fact the anyone can be the best short game/putter player, makes one think things a bit differently.
I remember when James picked up that old Titleist driver with the shorter shaft, declared it to be mini driver, and was very successful with it. What’s the difference?
No coaching,just three guys chatting
If the book can provide even a slight increase in short game confidence, I’m buying — just want to see the video first!
Ricks put on weight
Great podcast. I’ve been to Dan’s Short Game sessions and I’ve learnt so much. His book is amazing and definitely recommended.
I've taken to 8-9-pw if I don't have to chip over something and it's saving me shots every round. I don't play as much as before, or practice at all, so keeping it simple is my new plan. Great pod. Lots of good insights.
£250 for an hours lesson 😮💨😮💨😮💨
Just bought the book ,
Hope it will improve me 🫣
Can I like this video 10 more times??? 😂Amazing insight into the game
I was waiting for the horrible audio, which just never came.
If you’d said nothing about the audio, I wouldn’t have given it a thought.
