These results do happen regularly especially over the past few seasons. The way some fan's are going on you would think Peterborough were bottom of the league with rubbish players and that Wednesday should have easily beaten them. We'll done PUFC great result⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️
Derby County fan here and first, a supporter of former Ram Darren Moore. But to say SW were strong mid-season and faded at the end of the season – that's what happened to Derby. Rams had a 20-game unbeaten streak in the middle of the season, drew 0-0 at Anfield in the cup with a free team after starting pre-season with just 5 senior team players under contract and still we too were looking at an automatic promotion spot mid season too.
NOW, is not the time to assess your whole season. Play the rest of your season first. Give it a week or two and then assess your season. Sheffield Wednesday and Derby County aren't natural enemies. So all I'll say is – you're in the playoffs still, Derby's season ended with a single controversial goal at your place. Do you want to end your season on losing big, or losing by a single controversial goal.

As a Barnsley fan I have to say that the 4-2 scoreline at Oakwell flattered us as Wednesday were carving us open at 2-2 and I thought we would lose the game. They had their chances to win but they failed to convert them.

The EFL has the worst playoff system in Germany it's a straight playoff with the team you want to replace. You have to finish top 3 to have a chance at promotion. But in the EFL and the national league you just have to make it to the top 6 or 7.
The league is the true measure of a team's quality. If you watch the NBA you know that the best team hardly ever win the title. It always the team in form at the end of the season. And it's the same with these EFL playoffs. You don't get the 3 best team. You get the best 2 teams and the most informed team at the end of the season.
If you really want a Wembley playoff to decide promotion. Then the best way is to kick out 5th and 6th and make a straight playoff with 3rd and 4th. League position should count for something at least.
