Loving these videos with Mike! Keep'em coming!
These coaching videos are the best. Mike is a great coach because he’s actually educating you about the swing rather than just telling you what to do like at golftec. Every good player knows how to diagnose their swing and what causes different misses.
Congrats on the 10k!!
Way to go on 10k. So glad to see you back with Mike. His knowledge and teaching style is miles ahead of the other coaches
The order of the clubs that Mike said you should hit in practice is very solid advice. I used to do exactly what Jerome does, start at PW and switch to next consecutive club. I've come to realize that doing this is not an accurate portrayal when on the golf course.
Now I start with 7i, PW, 6i, 9i, 5i, 8i, 4i, Driver, 56*, about 5-15 shots per club depending on how I am hitting the club, better I am hitting it, the less shots I hit with it. If you aren't getting better by shot 15, then it's best to switch and mix it up, otherwise you are building bad rhythm and habits, imo.
If you have a backyard, I would look into getting a 10x10x10 cage with net, Fiberbuilt hitting strip that mimics grass, and a launch monitor to practice daily. Driving to the range takes a lot of effort imo. I have the mevo+, it's great, but the yardages are short on every club. I mainly look at smash factor and shot shape, which are decently accurate. There's nothing like practicing in the privacy of your own home. I'm out there at least 4 days a week.
Mike is your guy mate, can do more harm than good jumping around coaches. Mike seems solid. You just gotta put in the hours.
Mike is your guy, believe in his techniques and you will improve faster than the indoor lessons
Videos with Mike are the best!
Noticed that in a previous video your Golftec instructor was trying to get you to 'hip bump', whereas in this video, Mike is trying to get you to rotate your hips properly. The 'hip bump' move is what was causing you to move your weight improperly and chunk or top your shots – staying back when you bump the hip. The Golftec instructor isn't giving incorrect information, but he is giving it to you in such a way that you are unable to implement it correctly. Mike is teaching you how to do things properly, in the right way, at the right time. Going to both instructors at a similar time in your learning journey is working against you. Stick with Mike.
Stay with mike dude. Congrats on your 10k
Shocking how many like this. This is painful to follow. He's clearly very uncomfortable standing that open on a 50 yard shot. Surprised he's able to hit the ball at all.
So many better coaches on YT to watch 🤷♂️
Have to admit, Mike is fast becoming my favourite online golf coach. Too bad his coaching environment looks like a dump. He deserves to be at a premier golf course with much nicer conditions. But I'm sure he's happy and doing just fine.
I like this coach he knows what he is talking about.
your on to it now
I have single length clubs.
Love Mike's hat. Can you let us know details. Brand etc.
Thank you.
This is the way
Enjoy Mike 's teaching method. Easy to implement. Several years ago, I went to Golf tec for 3 months and spent about $1,500. My scores,.in the following season was the same as before. My learning was not repeatable. The guy showed me how the pro left butt cheek appeared at impact , and yet he knew nothing about how to get me there biomechanically. All he tried was to sign me up for the next lesson. When I came in for practicing after the lesson, he walked by , said hello,.and moved on. He did not even spend 2 minutes, giving me feedback. Consequently, I continued to groove the bad swing again and again.
Yes, he seems to know his stuff. But please stop all the silly stuff and the endless chatter, it is too confusing for everyone but for him
Stick with Mike. He’s the best
I find his explanations not very easy to follow. If you hit one 'fat'…. what does that even mean? If it means that you dug your club face into the ground which I'm assuming, would the answer to be don't swing it so close to the ground?
The intro begins with what you will learn, funny…….. I thought it was about what Jerome will learn, it’s almost like he’s promoting the golf coach
The only thing I thought was interesting was the use of the string, but that won’t take you far, the coach did say something correct, it’s practice the right way repeatedly until it feels natural, that’s how you will learn the golf swing, but be careful, most drill are band aid fixes, if you keep practicing those then you will swing just like the drills you’re practicing and will develop bad habits.
Mike is blowing my mind. I have never heard these explanations of the swing cause and effect. Beautiful.
What a fantastic teacher
Mike is a top class coach, I’m loving these lessons
STICK WITH MIKE IF YOU WANNA GO SCRATCH!
This is the instructor we all need.. you can tell this guy is honest in his teaching👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I would struggle with the amount of body contortion in this lesson.
Annika Sorenstam has one of the simplest swings in golf and dominated her sport.
He will be fine if he sticks to the basics grip, stance setup, and swing concepts, then practise.I note a lot of pros bring there coach mainly to look at there setups.
I'm sure this guy is great. But he's basically giving a doctorate level dissertation to someone who is still learning his ABCs.
He doesn't need to know anything complex. Dude just needs to know the basics.
Unfortunately, i feel like coaches who do this, have created a way to talk for 30-40 of a lesson and only do 20 minutes of actual swinging and analysis. This forces you to take far more lessons than originally needed if you spent less time talking.
The coach gives me "Coach Klein from The Waterboy" vibes.
the thing i like the most about coach mike is that ive been able to learn WHY my shot went in the direction it did. And that has been the most helpful thing. great vid
I can see why your coach is a hall of famer. He is an amazing coach.
Love to hear what this guy has to say about the swing but I can not bear ghe constant questions before the explaining
While I like these videos, I feel like the coach gives way too much information on every shot/every video. I would call this information overload, maybe focus on 1 thing at a time.
12:30 "did you go and see a random instructor?" "Yesss"! 😂😊
Wydra is an amazing teacher. I just got back into the game after a long layoff and he is a technical wizard in the swing 😊 I am 3000 miles away but may just come see him
