League minutes so far this season for Manchester City CBs: Dias 1,908, Ake 1,760, Stones 1,731 and Akanji 2,049.
Compare to Arsenal CBs:
Saliba 2,416 (out since mid March, replaced by Holding who has played 500+ minutes but we all know if Saliba had stayed fit, he would be on 3000+ minutes) and Gabriel 3,051.
Pep has 4 CBs he could absolute trust and rotate, so at this late stage of the season, each of those four have played 1000+ minutes less than Arteta's two trusted CBs, allowing them to stay fitter and fresher.
The same applies to City's midfield: Rodri 2,730, Silva 2,105, Gundogan 2,101, KdB 2,267 compared to Arsenal midfield: Xhaka 2,716, Partey 2,266, Ødegaard 2,828.
Our wingers are exhausted after having played significant minutes (Saka 2,867
Martinelli 2,705). City's wide attackers split their minutes better: Foden 1,431, Grealish 2,051, Mahrez 1,489.
The difference between Arsenal and Man City this season is that Pep can rotate his players better and yet still maintain a style and a quality of play that he wants. Arteta doesn't have his full set of personnel yet, and indeed, is still early in his build. I think Arteta needs another two transfer windows to get to the squad that would stand toe to toe with Pep's and bloody their noses.
Minimum 2 GKs, 5 CBs (2 short), 4 FBs (1 short), 6 midfielders (2 short), 4 wide attackers (1 short), and 3 strikers (1 short).
7 more Arteta recruits in the next two windows will make this a real, sustainable contender squad.
One further thing … I don't really buy into the "must have specific players" arguments. I don't buy into we must have Caicedo and Rice, for instance.
I think we must have the right numbers of players with the right quality. And that right quality isn't necessarily "world class." It is "good enough to execute Arteta's system."
The way that Ben White is playing inverted and the fact that AMN wants to play midfield, if he had any sense, he would stay and fight to play RB because its almost the same when we have possesion

Zinchenko in! But rotated! Ramsdale in, little bit rotated! Some Arsenal fans think our players dont have enough experience but after playing 2 straight seasons in PL as a starer, thats bloodu good experience!
Very poor to be losing AMN and Reiss Nelson for nothing. Journalists in the pocket of the club like Tom are underplaying the loss of these players, potentially around £50m of talent because it shows up their mate Edu

No one in my mind is untouchable 😁 Go gunners ❤️ But I don't think Vieira have a great future in Arsenal, maybe I am wrong. Caicedo 🙏, forget strikers we got Eddie and personally think he's just going to be better. If Arsenal are gonna by Chelsea players they have to wait as long as possible because of they are forced to selling and will lower price in panic.

Everyone wants Caicedo & Rice… United, Liverpool, City, Newcastle, all looking for CMs… Chelsea will buy them for the sake of it and pay triple… I honestly think its going to be harder than people think and we may choose to go for bargain options (in typical arsenal fashion)
Id move on arteta get a experienced manAger potter wud be perfect he can coach the young players

Arsenal get all these players on finance deals and end up paying them off by putting them on loan

No player untouchable if you can bring someone in that is better, the lowest one dropping out once you have enough for the squad strength & depth. Not too many changes in a single window
