  1. It's always nice to hear an instructor promoting the use of a chipper or putter from off the green. Thank you!

  2. De-lofting the club and punching a 7/8/9 iron as the go to shot certainly takes alot of pressure off. Or using any of those as a chipper shot always feels less likely to mess up. Rather consistently hit an 8 times out of 10 shot opposed to risking a 3 in 10 shot with the lob wedge.
Knowing my limits and playing percentages pays off for mid handicappers imo.

  3. For most of us amateurs the lob wedge is a dangerously seductive club. I have decided that I will only use it from bunkers or when I need to get over a hazard and stop quickly, anything else will be a lower lofted club, probably 50 degree or in some cases 9i

  4. People really just need to practice these short shots instead of trying to find their magic swing move on YouTube and the driving range. It takes so much pressure off your long game if you can get up and down with anything resembling proficiency. Plus, short game actually helps you figure out strike for approach shots.

  5. The addition of the chipper as well as more forgiving wedges (cbx2) has definitely reduced my score. You still need to practice though. No club swings itself…yet lol

  6. I carry a Ping ChipR and use it up to 100 metres depending on what is in front of me. These days I can’t hit greens in regulation most of the time so I chip on most holes. If I have to go over a bunker or stop the ball quickly I’ll use a wedge. The ChipR saves me 4 strokes or more a round on what I was shooting before.

  7. I like to play the game with low med and high around the green with my 56 & 60. Def helps dial in the feels for each shot. Nice video

  8. Break downs with gains and losses… Awesome… I’ve been using my 9 iron a lot for those shots along with the putter and I must say I definitely see the difference in the score cards. I feel like the only time when I get more loft on is when I know I have to go over something. Thanks for the drill Mark! This is so good…

  9. I'm losing loads of shots chipping out of the rough on short chips around the green. A specific video on this topic would be so helpful to me 😊
