More big changes are coming to the PGA TOUR, including additional “no cut” events added to the schedule in 2024.

This leaves us wondering…how much of these changes are influenced by pressure from LIV Golf?

  1. Wait. Why are we calling them "designated events"? Weren't the mouthpieces of the PGA Tour all saying LIV Golf was nothing more than "exhibition" golf since it had no cuts? Let's call them what they are, "Designated Exhibitions."

  2. Nobody cares about OWGR anymore, except for PGAT fans. It's the last thing they got left to defend the tour that's had to copy LIV and pay the players fairly.

  3. Omg genesis invitational will be limited field. As will Arnies and Jacks events; but these two will maintain cuts. It’s a mess really.
I’m all about what LIv is bringing to golf. But It’s an absolute shame for the pga tour to make its biggest events limited fields. By having everyone there- even without LIv guys- they will always have too guys in contention.
This is clearly the work of Rory and top players trying to get what the LIv players are getting. Rory can do this because of the pull they have thanks To the LIv players leaving.
The rank and file are getting absolutely screwed here.
I mean I could go on and on but this really is a shame. The last thing the pga tour needed was to make its biggest events limited and of no cut. Literally the last thing they needed. The only thing they needed with the big events is to work Liv players back in.
The pga tour has a ton of events that need to fall off or find ways to make top guys want to play even thou they may not have to. Better locations. Better courses. Better treatment. Better money. Better everything.
I support LIv but I watch every pga tour event and was glad the pga tour finally found a reason to bring everyone they have left to their biggest events. Imagine if they had everyone everyone. How awesome would that be?

I’ll say it everywhere. The average top 75 players schedule should look like this:
    10’or so LIv.
10’or so pga tour top events
    4 majors.
5 events in their home tows or home tours (euro, Asian, Japanese, etc).
I think at least one player from every tour should get into these things.

    But before all that:
The pga tour need to get it together.

You can’t completely hate on something one minute than completely bite off it the next. They look absolutely lost imho.

  4. So next year of the 44 weekly PGA events, the top 50 players will only be playing in 13 elevated events which includes the majors and the Fedex Cup. The other 31 will be like Korn Ferry events.

  5. Boy you guys are back peddaling quickly. The truth is that for the players it will always be about the money. The inception of the PGA Tour was about the money too. So everyone can spin it how they want. The truth will slowly trickle out.

  6. Soooo there just renaming the World Golf Championship tournaments, there no cut events other than that Match play championship for obvious reasons, but I’m pretty sure if your in the field you make a check.
What I think is funny, the PGA tour has magically come up with a 💩 ton more money for these events……think Phil was onto something asking where’s all the money going.

  7. The PGA and their bitch boy, Rory, are nothing but hypocrites. A little research will reveal that the PGA tour takes Saudi money and China money. Two great, exemplary countries. F!@# rory

  8. Why don’t the Euros stay playing on the Euro tour? And stay away from our universities?

They could win the Italian Open which started in 1925. Great history and tradition. Or Irish Open started in 1927.

  9. Gee I guess LIV had nothing to do with that. Also why don’t you stop the bullshit of teetimes early late lady early because it’s always been unfair I played in a bunch of qualifiers where I got great weather, and the guy that came out four hours later couldn’t stand up over the ball. Shotgun start no cut. Go LIV!!!

  10. Do I think LIV is driving change on tour yes, but with no real way to qualify for their tournaments other than your name or in some cases your brothers name still no wgr points

  11. well if they getting world ranking points than they better start giving liv them asap

  12. All these changes are making only the top Golfers richer . The original issue with the PGA Tour , was the fact that it was a small secluded tour , and did not give any opportunity to struggling up and coming golfers . Tours must have larger number of tour players , to allow more players to come through . The tours are only looking at the Elliot players . Look at it from the majority of players trying to get onto the tour .
