I'm convinced Whit doesn't understand communication skills. He wasn't talking about them jumping in after the hit. It was Stamkos knowing if he starts shit with Matthews, it will cause chaos that will have a chance to give a better outcome. The guy collecting sticks isn't apart of the scrum… until Stamkos threw his gloves off and started swinging.
The disallowed goal… he is forgetting the first half of the sequence where the puck is being covered and in order to get it loose Samsonov is pushed with a stick… it's very clear there were two swings on that.

I think that's a bad take on the Fiala penalty, they bring up the "hit" but fail to mention the call was tripping; clearly had his stick between Draisaitl's legs and hauled him down, looked like a pretty blatant trip in my eyes.

Biz you’re off the mark about the refs and the Oilers/LA. These refs shut the Oilers down for the entire First Period of game 3. The oilers were flying and the 3 penalties that were dealt to the oilers in the first were not at all penalties. Not yo mention everything else that has happened this series. Happy the series is tied up, but the refs better have better games because I’m starting to question if Vegas doesn’t have something to do with this.

Devils are playing good but the rangers are much better overall it’s going to be very tough to beat the devils. Even if they do, they won’t know what to do in the next round. There goal this season is literally to just get away with a playoff series win against us. Nothing more. Rangers win in 6 or 7

Whit's take on Jersey's at the 1:06:20 mark might be the worst take he's had on the Pod before. As an adult I love showing my team pride, and fans who wear jerseys are usually the most passionate in the building on most nights. As a Toronto fan there is nothing I hate more than seeing a bunch of suits in the 100 section most weeknights just staring at the ice with empty expressions and zero passion. I agree wearing a signed jersey may be a bit much, but I feel as an organization, there is nothing more exciting than seeing 20K fans passionately cheering you on from the stands, and it doesn't get more passionate than wearing the team's logo and colors on your chest.

On Officiating: Not only is the the game faster and the crowd louder, not only are sticks checked harder and legs moving faster, but the DIVES are thrown more often and with more conviction. Let's call a spade a spade. As diving increases in a game of this speed, officiating is going to suffer. It's a variable that changes drastically in playoffs, but no one is willing to acknowledge it. Call more dives.
