If you struggle with chip shots and pitch shots around the green it’s because you have a chipping and pitching technique that is either too complicated or your trying to use the same technique for all your short game shots.

Here’s what you are going to learn

1. How you set-up to chipping and pitching is crucial for consistent strikes.
2. Learn how to have a tension free golf swing

ABOUT DANNY
———————–
Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!

I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.

On YouTube and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.

Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble

I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

  1. Great vid! Pulls the all the Pete Cowen ideas together into a comprehensive view. Mr. Cowen always refers to natural forces, I always guested he was talking about using gravity to accelerate the club head while the golfers body (left shoulder?) becomes the center of the arc for centrapetal force. You just demonstrated his ideas. Really great.

  2. Appreciate this video so much; I tend to leave my pitching shots short from being tentative.

  3. Another good one! I usually make solid contact with my pitches but they are almost always a bit left and short. Focus more on the momentum? Thanks

  4. Hi Danny great video. Danny I've introduced this style of pitching into my game but my question is I've noticed the pros open their wedges up slightly so would you open your wedge slightly with this technique? Thanks Danny.

  5. One of your best and one of the best by anyone. When recommending you, it is this video I will use from now on.. Thank you so much for your dedication in making us better

  6. Hi Danny, great video! What is the weight distribution you are looking for between your left and right side (right handed golfer)? Thank you

  7. Just came from the range after watching this video. It really helps! I will save this video and watch it again and again. thank you!

  8. Love your enthusiasm. You're great on camera. Can you talk about flop shots. Often I find I'm at the edge of the green and need to get a high loft, low spin ball drop closer to the pin.

  9. Danny, great lesson that illustrates -and explains – the Pete Cowen short pitching method so well. The short game stuff with Pete on your website is pound for pound the best pitching/bunker/chipping teaching ever. A peerless Yorkshire double act. As you approach a million subscribers can I say thanks for the work that goes into this teaching of this quality. Take a bow 👏👏👏

  10. Thanks Danny.
    Always keeps it simple.
    Great tip and drill.
I assume a little more weight on the front foot wouldn’t hurt?
    Keep up the great content!

  11. I don't know if this is a good idea or not. Few years ago I bought a range finder and practiced with it to learn the feel of different distance shots. Knowing what say a 50 yard shot felt like gave me more confidence to swing freely and let the club swing. I love your image of finishing tall and facing the hole that you showed. The players on Tour all have different swings but nearly all always finish tall, facing the hole.

  12. Danny you are by far the best youtube instructor that I know of in this platform.

  13. A big thing for me with pitch shots is the grip. I think this really emphasizes the idea of letting the club drop naturally. Once I started staying loose with the grip to allow the clubhead to drop in my downswing, this whole technique of pitching became a lot less of a conscious effort and that 50-60 yard shot over a bunker onto the green magically no longer frightens me.

  14. Well done Danny. It's a beautiful day here and I'm going straight out to practice this!

  15. Ha ha, the preshot drill is all well & good until anxiety kicks in on the actual shot . Any tips to shut down that feel, other than loads of practice?

  16. Danny I need a teacher in golf, like yourself to come with me. At times I can hit okay but then I completely mess up the next shot or two but learning where to stand for the distance is a big help.

  17. That's a great lesson Danny, I think it's also important to keep the head still through the swing

  18. Thank you for this, this range has been what I've struggled with the most so far this season. Couldn't have come at a better time!

  19. Outstanding video Danny. One question regarding your suggestion to take a full swing at 80 yards when you reach your max controlled distance at 60. Would it work to go up in club to say a gap or sand wedge but still utilize your drill?

  20. Danny. You've brought me on 5 shots but on this one I shank 6 out of 10. I'm coming back open. I just don't know what to do with wrists.

  21. This is certainly great technique. All things being equal, do you have any suggestions on knowing which club to use (inside 80 yards)? What are the key elements you apply when you're dialing in approach shots between 80 and 120 yards? Are you going from the feeling of a pendulum type swing to like a three-quarter full shot? Thanks.

  22. 🎉 cheers Danny, thank you. Really helpful. I appreciate you. One day I will video my application of one of your lessons.

  23. Its funny how every one of Danny's lessons are basically the same exact thing, except he's teaching totally different parts of the game. He's really teaching the essence of the golf swing, the most important part of the swing which is easily neglected if you focus too much on any random swing thought or drill.

  24. Thanks Danny for another great video. Your video with Pete Cowan helped me a lot around the greens and this one is a great summary.

  25. Great stuff Danny. I've tried it and it works. You manage to convey the key principles in a practical and straightforward way. You're inspirational.

  26. Thanks for the video Danny it really helps my game,I do have just 1 question for you please.Could you tell us the distance in metres as well as yards,we here down under measure in metres..LOL.. thanks again.. 6.26am
