The USGA is a nonprofit organization that celebrates, serves and advances the game of golf. Founded in 1894, we conduct many of golf’s premier professional and amateur championships, including the U.S. Open and U.S. Women’s Open. With The R&A, we govern the sport via a global set of playing, equipment, handicapping and amateur status rules. The USGA campus in Liberty Corner, New Jersey, is home to the Association’s Research and Test Center, where science and innovation are fueling a healthy and sustainable game for the future. The campus is also home to the USGA Golf Museum, where we honor the game by curating the world’s most comprehensive archive of golf artifacts. To learn more, visit https://www.usga.org.

  1. I love these videos. Paynes original open win was the first I remember growing up. And yes there's been so many phenomenal opens. But again, talking about Payne, his 99 win might be the greatest I've watched.

  2. I think it was the next year or two when Callaway released the "Big Bertha". That driver along with tiger woods changed the game. Mostly tiger lol

  3. Interesting Tidbit — Lee Janzen (1993, 1998) and Payne Stewart (1991, 1999) were each 2-time US Open champions. Each of Janzen's wins came at the expense of Stewart. If it had not been for Janzen, Payne Stewart would have been a 4-time US Open winner, joining Willie Anderson, Bobby Jones, Ben Hogan and Jack Nicklaus

  4. Funny how they forget that daly wasn't the first to hit the 17th green in 2…..sandy lyle did it 20 minutes earlier but never reported except by a few TV crews who saw it
