To be honest, the Takomo clubs were great, but way too thick and heavy for me. I had the 101s and only used them a handful of times, great DTC brand but just weren’t for me. If you like a small blade length and thinner top line though they will not fit your game. All in all good starter to intermediate clubs that look great in the bag!
Fantastic numbers from two fantastic golf brands, very difficult to choose between the two but I think the Takomo irons just about take it but I wouldn’t be disappointed with the CALEY irons because you would eventually get used to the look
After James being a massive fan of the cobra Forgedtec irons previously would love to see a comparison against them as I think they’re similar category. Think Chris even had them in the bag.
I'd be interested in a review for the average golfer like a older forgiving club maybe mizuno mx15/17 range against newer forgiving clubs .I see people getting expensive clubs thinking they will play better .I'd be interest on you're thoughts from yourself and Chris .
Been debating between the Cobra radspeed vs Takomo 101 irons. Can get the radpseed's 25% off so same price after shipping and taxes. Can anyone offer advice on the feel and forgiveness and how comparable they are? Cheers!
I love Takomo, and other brands as such in a DTC model. But the best, proven irons for value are the Wilson Staff blades. They beat everyone else in their category.
I would definitely go Takomo but took a look at their wedges and no custom fit options. As a taller golfer I have 2inch longer than standard and lie adjustment to accommodate with my irons so have to go with a make that offers this as an option. Ended up with TM P790s as a result. Not a brand issue just practical to get a set that works for me.
I’ve had the Takomo’s in the cart a few times but haven’t pulled the trigger yet. But now there’s other contenders. Caley. Haywood. So now I’m not sure.

i wish i would have tried the Tacomo instead of buying the T100/s but i love them just hate the project x shaft
Hi James, could you also do a review on the sub70 range? They've started to supply from a UK base. A mate has the 699s and loves them
2 great options…Takomo for me as prefer the lack of offset and they look more ‘bladey’ with the shallower top edge
The biggest problem for me is… they do not come in a left handed option. Hopefully that changes soon!
I think value is probably the word you were going for James.
Well done James 👏
So we’re do you get fitted for Takomo irons please James .

Affordable
Caley for me. Can't argue with the performance or the price
I like the look of the Takomo's. How do these 2 compare to the Tour Exotics c722. They're £400 at American Galf. Did you review the C723 recently?
I really like the look of the Takomo 201s, found out the import tax added upon delivery is around an extra £120.

if i was in the maket to change my irons.. i'd look at the Takomo as it looks more easier on the eye
James you could also say they are affordable too. I prefer the look of the takomo irons myself as well
Could you review the Caley 01T Irons?

Hi James, have you tested the Ram FX77s, they look very similar to both these, but are cheaper still
Both look nice
Take a look at the new 2023 Adams clubs. Same price point but Taylormade sells the via direct to consumer model
James is getting the "lefts" again… Might be a long summer unless he gets that figured out.

They look so similar. If I had to pick I'd go takomo as they suit my eye better

Wilson staff d9 forged are just a little more expensive. You can get fitted for them and they feel so good.
I didn´t even notice the hat until you mentioned it

I would go the Takomo 101T and am seriously considering getting some.
I would but the Takomo 101t and am sure when I do go for a new set it will be them
That sounds brilliant.I love see them against some premium clubs
You should add the Gigagolf irons. Same but even less
I buy the Tokyo I like the look and the options they offer.
"Less expensive…"
"Less expensive" is what you should be saying
