Wright will be a very good player it’s a safe pick . I just feel sour that we didn’t get Carter . I am the first one to say we need to protect Justin but carter is super talented
I love what poles is doing with the line. They are going to physically beat up defenses year.
Loathe the pick. The equivalent of having $10,000 to fix up a beat up old car and spending $5000 on rims and tyres. Yeah, no ones denying you needed tyres, as the old ones were bald & the rims were corroded, and there was no way your son could take his driving test in it fairly until you replaced the them. But you just spent half your budget on something that could have been acquired for far less with little loss of performance. Now you're going to have to scrimp and scrape to fix the rest of the car, and hope is doesn't break down on the way to the testing center.
Darnell Wright might end up being the best RT in the league, who knows, I don't pretend I know; But there's a reason top RTs get paid 15-20% less than top LTs. They not as valuable and that's why you don't draft them in the top 10. The few right tackles that playing in the league that were drafted high were either players who initially failed at LT (like Jack Conklin) or players drafted to play RT until a veteran LT left, but then didn't make the switch (eg Lane Johnson/Jason Peters or Mike McGlinchey/Joe Staley).
The Bears may rue the day that they gave away a potential "generational talent" at a position of desperate need in their defense for only a 4th round draft pick which more than likely won't even make their team!! Philly's going to win a number of Super Bowls in the coming years.
First our running game is unproven in terms of non of these guys can pass block especially against the blitz; second the SEC is not a hot bed of offensive linemen. DJ Flucker; Underwood Williams from Vanderbilt the list is extensive; sorry would have taken the kid from NW the issue with short arms was over hyped lots of O linemen with long arms that suck and good ones with short arms who are great
I know I can't believe we finally got a GM doing it the right way but I knew he would considering he was an offensive lineman I just knew he was going to do everything the right way I cannot be more excited for this year and for the rebuild of this team

I love this pick, Kap. Even though most think we should have gotten more. But I see it as keeping us on par for sustainable success by moving down and grabbinga future 4th. I wanted Darnell Wright so bad cause of his dominance against the top talent in the SEC.

I liked J.C too but Poles was in a win-win-lose scenario! Both J.C. & Wright were winners but… Bears lose if we don't take picks protecting franchise QB. We're all sick seeing Soldier Fields run for life and THAT'S why – DUH – Bears led league in rushing! Wright protects AND opens holes for RB's. We used to HOLD our breaths when it was 3rd and 5! Yes, FIVE! We couldn't even make that! Bears must've led league in 3 and OUTS unless, yep, Justin had to perform miracles. Teams used to stack line/blitz while our receivers didn't have time to get open. 8 teams needing defensive help yet passed on Carter. 8! BEARS in every direction!

Great player, but a wasted top 10 pick. O line should be be day 2. Worst Defense in the NFL… why does everyone pretend its optional. Defense can get done with the leftovers? DEAD LAST IN THE LEAGUE ! And will be this year too. But lots of points.

I do believe he can play both sides, and I think they looked at him like that. With Johnson gone, it was a bonus to get the fourth because Wright could have gone before Skoronski. All three of these guys should play quite a while. Nothing is perfect
