Johnny puts them head to head to see what performance benefits are offered by both. It’s an interesting test and the answer requires some digging…and hitting:)

  1. I wish I was able to afford to get absolutely fit to a tee, with my shafts and everything. I've got a set of ping g400s and I love the driver through 3 hybrid, but I don't hit my regular 4 iron worth a damn and the 5 is not much better. Plus, th3 g400 irons just don't spin enough. I may go Callaway. I started out with a big Bertha 2 driver and I still have it. I need to get it regripped bad.

  2. 4 iron (Apex) all the way, couldn’t get along with the Apex Pro hybrid. Happy that i tried it but even happier with the 4 iron (and 3 iron).

Not worried about distance at all.

My most important club; Jaws 54-12W, love the thing.

  3. I got myself a Epic Super Hybrid 3H and an Apex 21 4H and 5H to replace the long irons. Now it's a matter of adjusting the lofts to make sure there isn't overlap on yardage with my 5 wood, those hybrids and the lower end of irons and wedges.

  4. I use my 5 wood for shots out of light rough or 200 yards off the tee. I use my 4 iron off the tee which is about my 190 yard club. Don’t really need a hybrid

  5. what woods do you carry? are you a 3,5 wood guy or do u mix it up with driving iron/7-wood/hybrids?

  6. I would just play the pro, saves your ball speed on a miss and more forgiving. You have to button that 4iron to get it to work.
