I've been almost exclusively lifting free weights for years now, and just switched to a machine based program. I can already feel it's going to make my mind-muscle connection WAY better. Can only foresee improvements on my freeweight lifts in the future
Exactly, they’re complimentary. Nobody is forcing you to choose between 100% free weights or 100% machines. Having some mix of both is better than being exclusive to one.
Most days I can’t train in a real gym with access to machines, or end up ignoring the machines anyways (too socially anxious to ask how many sets someone has left). Pretty much 99% of my gains can be attributed to free weights/dumbbells and calisthenics, and I’m really happy with how far both my physique and strength gains have gone the past couple years. (obviously never satisfied tho).
I don't know where I heard this advice but it has helped with my weight lifting journey a lot. Basically take from the principals of all excerise types bodybuilding calesthenics and powerlifting and try and implement excercises from all three into your routine
Your body will recuit more muscle fibers when it senses stability. I use the free weight movements, and the machines I like. Sometimes i favor one over the other just depending on what Im trying to train for at that time.
Not even trying to be funny or disrespectful so I hope you dont take it that way, but seeing your hair in the first part of the video while you're doing lateral raises makes me realize why anime characters hair is drawn the way it is. I use to always wonder why they made it so spikey when nobody's hair is like that but I was clearly wrong.

Personally with access to some of the best machines, 80% of my workouts are just free weights and cables
If you only use machines I don’t respect your weight room knowledge at all
