The 2018 NFL Draft will be known for many things: The quarterback-heavy nature at the top of the draft, several high-profile picks that never panned out (for a variety of reasons), and the emergence of superstars that came from high-risk draft selections. The successes, the flops, and the mehs are always a part of every draft, and this one is no different. It’s been five years, which is a good time to get a gauge as to how each selection went.
Join me as we go over every pick in the first round (poorly) and assess their impact at the NFL level. There were some ones that blew up in my face. Just saying.

Nothing beats that David Akers troll job at the 2018 draft.
Have you considered revisiting drafts from more than 5 years ago? Like say revisit the 2012 draft, or the 2007 draft, or even the 2000 draft?
not many busts tho
I would love to see a draft from yesteryear.
24:29 I’m not joking when I say Ik this by heart and can repeat it on command including the announcers “uhoh” and “ OO!””oh!”. Literally best draft pick announcement ever
Another Tree W
As a Lions fan, I remember after seeing Ragnow be picked, all of Bengals Twitter, including some of the Bengals staff, were mad that the Lions took him instead of Cincy. Wouldn't be the last time they get mad at the Lions picking a O-Lineman they wanted lol (Tho, the other time did also get them some WR from LSU, so what do I know)
I've been looking forward to this
The defense in this first round was money.
"Download Draft Kings today, except you, Calvin Ridley." 😂
Still think that Calvin Ridley's suspension was some BS…
I still can't believe Jordan Mailata became what he is
The David Akers bit 😂😂
Missed Tracy Walker in the 3rd round notables
You might be able to do 2021 now 😃
Thank you for playing the troll David Akers at the end 😂😂I love that we stole him too
I literally wait for this video to drop after every season
Calvin Ridley looked sad as hell when he got drafted.
And Lamar signs an extension a day later
LOL… The push notification of Lamar's extension came at the exact time I was seeing him selected in this video!
Part of LVE's turn around was a change in our defensive coordinator. Dan Quinn knew how to use him properly, I see a bright future for him.
Yo, we hear that Jet Set Radio Future soundtrack in the back. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
That’s awesome. Good looks Tree.
Please go back to making nba videos again tree!
Actually, Trey Quinn (Mr. Irrelevant 2018) is NOT out of football. He’s currently playing with the Michigan Panthers in the USFL.
david akers trolling dallas and drafting dallas is a top 5 draft moment for sure
If you remember this QB class was supposed to rival the 1983 draft.
Someone PLEASE tell me Terrell Edmunds washed his hands before he went on stage. Eww.
And now Lamar got his bag! Ravens really hit a home run with him!!
Love thIs series! Thanks tree!
Damn didn't expect Jet Set Radio Future music, I'm impressed.
Goes to show that each draft pick is like a lottery ticket. Draft picks used in the first round can strike out if the player's development, their behaviour on and off the field, and team chemistry (or lack thereof) aren't handled properly. While players picked towards the end of the draft can potentially have Hall of Fame careers. Look at Patric Hornquist in the 2005 NHL draft. Taken with the last overall pick, and contributed on one or both of Pittsburgh's Cup wins in the mid-2010s. On the other side is Kyle Beach, who was taken with the 11th overall pick in 2008, and unfortunately couldn't make an NHL career for himself after being viewed as a locker room cancer despite the team that drafted him not doing background checks when hiring members of their coaching staff.
Wow the Ravens had a really good draft
SB for the giants being a meh is the worst take I’ve ever seen
Man, that guy announcing Philly's pick at the end was fantastic. That is old-school pro wrestling HEAT right there.
The guy at the end with the "Last time…born yet" line was gold.
We all waiting for that pirates post
Despite trading out of the first round the eagles kind of killed this draft
As an Eagles fan, that David Akers clip there will forever be absolute gold.
My favorite thing you do!
Ah glad malitata is mentioned he has been inspiring lots of aussies eith his nfl Success and defeating the stereotype of us just being kickers in the nfl
The 2018 draft class has turned out to be an unmitigated disaster for The Steelers
McGlinchey was a meh pick. He was a good run blocker till he got hurt but now he’s just mediocre right tackle. His pass blocking is unreliable. One of the main reason why the Niners didn’t wanna resign him
Great video, but you forgot Daniel Iceman Carlson who's an all pro kicker that was drafted in round 5 by the Vikings before they cut him and he made it to the raiders
crazy that Lamar has already been in the league for this long. Feels like he was just drafted a couple years ago….
It's amazing how much their Careers could have changed if they didn't go to the Cards, browns and jets
