Kap says facing Drew Smyly today was like going to the dentist. The Dodgers had no shot against him today. He had a perfect game going into the 8th inning. The only hit he ended up giving up was a little dribbler that barely went ten feet.
In addition to Smyly, the Cubs offense was awesome. Nico Hoerner had 4 hits including a home run. Patrick Wisdom hit another home run. Trey Mancini his a home run. Cody Bellinger hit another home run. They absolutely blew out a team that everyone thought was going to be the best team in the National League.

I know it’s a long season and the Cubs will go through some tough periods, just I like any other team but I certainly consider this team good, especially after losing in the 9th last night to a grand slam and then coming back to the friendly confines this afternoon and handing it to a really good Dodgers team. I'm not good with advanced stats and how today's game is analyzed, but I still know good baseball when I see it. This is a good baseball team. The way they have been attacking the ball is really impressive. There are few holes in this lineup.

Ya gotta like the adjustment(s) Patrick Wisdom has made at the plate! He'll still be frustrating with strikeouts. But P. Wizzy is staying alive more with 2 strikes against him. He's making contact and extending at-bats. And why do batters with 2 strikes just stand like mannequins and take called-third strikes right down Broadway?! Jeez, they must've not listened in Little League when the manager said "protect the plate" with 2 strikes. And why take a dopey gamble and take a called-third strike when the pitch catches the outside edge of the dish. Try to go oppo with a possible gapper. At least there was an effort to put the ball in play. Take that!!!
