  1. The question becomes, at what point is distance too much. Driver yes swing as hard as you can. But when you're hitting an 8 iron 180, what do you hit 150 and in?

  2. Great work Mark! I’m about to get on the speed wagon myself, have been scoring great lately though! Have to wait for the train to stop then 💪🏻

  3. Just curious, your golf bags straps seem very loose, is this your preference? It is sitting on your butt rather than your lower back.

  4. Good advice Mark… Push up when you go to push out…. LOL. I love this little chat/monologue. These are great thoughts. I’d love to go further for sure, if anything to make it feel like the game is easier and smaller targets look bigger. There’s got to be that confidence element I’d think. Love what you’re doing Mark. Hope to see some more vlogs with Coach soon!

  5. It’s a good video but also has to be taken with a grain of salt. Referencing Broadie and his strokes gained statistic needs some perspective. His data, while true, can really only be applied to more accomplished players (he used pga tour data to come up with his statistic).
The issue is telling a player to swing as fast as they can off the tee to get the ball down as far as possible to give themselves the shortest possible club in for their next shot is all well and good…if you are a tour player or accomplished ball striker because their “miss” when compared to an amateurs “miss” are two vastly different things.
When Rory or DJ mis-hit a driver it’s still 290+ yards in the left or right rough. When an amateur swings for the fences and mis-hits it all bets are off. It can be topped, thinned, chunked or so far off line the next shot in is either super long or they’ve incurred a penalty. Not really an ideal situation. This is something that really gets missed in applying some of these new statistics or concepts.

  6. I'm going to watch this but before I do, be warned. If you aren't better after this distance increase than I will never trust another thing Lou Stagner says

  7. How do you transfer swing speed with out a ball to keeping the same speed with a ball. I seem to slow down quite a bit. Thanks

  8. I have been watching you for many years, (when you were back at Exeter?) watching you geek out over the MP-5's and such… It's been really fun to watch your game evolve, your channel evolve, your filmmaking evolve… it's Crossfield appreciation day!

  9. I'm a +2 that like you 320 is a standard drive that will hit the fairway 8 out of 10 times, but I seldom hit my drive. I seldom hit it because that 2 out of 10 times I miss its in really bad shape or OB. I'm still of the school of playing the hole backwards. Pick what club I want to hit into the green, then pick the club off the tea that will get me to that point. Very seldom is that a driver. Keep up the good work.

  10. Love the discussion about this and everything you brought into this video to give background and thought to it all. Also, can I just say, the edit on this video is A1, flowing with the speech between cuts and throughout. Absolute class, Mark.

  11. Some people can’t hit hit further, that’s ok because you can always use different tees .

  12. I really do not think most of the viewers of this appreciate the amount of work going in to getting this slick edited video with a thousand different camera angles seamlessly put together to create a very interesting story to go along with the commentary – Thank you for the great visual story telling!

  13. Would be interested in hearing about distance improvements for the over 60s with dodgy hips 🙂

  14. Been a follower from the start just getting better and better mate.keep up the great work this vlog really helped again ⛳️

  15. Mark has shaftoid'ed up. Never thought I'd see the day. That's an Autoflex £400+ shaft haha

  16. C'mon Mark, we all know it's that whizzy driver shaft that gave you the extra distance rather than all of that research and fitness work 🙂

  17. I used to have lessons from Gordon Brand senior, i couldnt afford lessons for a bit and went down the book learning route. After 4 months my game was destroyed so I went back to Gordon. He watched me hit 3 balls, marched up to me and said " you been reading a book by that c##t Leadbetter havn ye …"
    Guilty as charged… 😂

  18. I don't think of distance as "am I better if I hit it further?". I think of it moreso as "now I have more opportunities for birdie". Hitting an 8i as opposed to a 6i definitely gives you an edge over the course.
