Reliving The War takes an in-depth look at the WWF vs WCW “Monday Night War” era of pro wrestling. Week by week every episode of WWF Monday Night Raw and WCW Monday Nitro gets covered (including every match and every promo) to find out which show was really the best.

On Nitro this week, JJ Dillon announces the War Games match at Fall Brawl; Team WCW vs Team Hollywood vs Team Wolfpac. Bret Hart takes on DDP, Goldberg wrestles in the main event, and Eddie Guerrero cuts his famous “coffee promo” where he talks about being held down by Eric Bischoff. Also, a man from Hulk Hogan’s past makes his debut in World Championship Wrestling.

On Raw, the WWF are preparing for SummerSlam 98; Stone Cold Steve Austin wants to talk to Mr. McMahon at the start of the show and Austin promises that The Undertaker is going to leave Raw tonight in a hearse . We have 2 more Brawl for All matches, the Raw debut of the Gangrel character, and a street fight pitting D-Generation X against The Nation.

  1. When I watched nitro this week on peacock they left the wwf trash talk in. I was actually wondering why you didn’t mention it at first. The brawl for all is a lot of fun for me to watch. Somehow I don’t remember it at all from my childhood watching it. Still kind of crazy they allowed it.

  2. Hate to say it, but that Eddie promo really wasn't all that great. He talked in circles, had to correct himself, looked like he forgot what he was saying.

The passion was there but the delivery was not.

  3. Brass knucks that didn't look like brass knucks but we'll call them brass knucks anyway 😂

  4. I think that doctor that came down with Bug Poppa pump, was the head scientist at Area 51 in Independence Day.

  5. *Me as a kid "the flock is cool"
    *Me as an adult
" Alex Wright and Disco inferno are the best thing about WCW."

  6. At that time was Kanes arm not meant to be completely covered in burns??? Seemed ok when he dressed as the undertaker 😂

  7. "Don't get put off when you see the timer"…are you kidding dude? I got excited when I saw the long runtime this week!

  8. For the record, Hogan never officially defeated Sting. Out of 9 official matches, Sting won 5, with the other 4 being no-contests.
So at the time of Hogan's statement in 98, he had never beaten Goldberg or Sting.

  9. Love Eddie Alot but…..i don't think that was a very good promo. I've seen way better from him, so a little surprising that THAT is the longest uninterrupted clip I've heard during the history of these recaps

  10. Hey Ryan. Been here since almost day one. Just wanted you to know that I still appreciate what you do and it's still my favorite show of the week. Thanks for putting the mail in, brother.

  11. 1998 is where you really see how thin the main event scene was in WWF. The absence of Bret and Shawn is palpable. For most of the year we had Austin, Undertaker, Kane and Mankind in basically every main event PPV. Only exceptions were Royal Rumble, and WrestleMania where Shawn main evented. No Way Out where Savio Vega and Road Dogg main evented. And of course Survivor Series where the Rock main evented.

  12. 3:23 It looks like Sick Boy unintentionally invented Goldust's 2013 version of The Curtain Call (at least that's what the move reminds me of) or maybe an in between of 2013's and 1997's Curtain Call a/k/a D-Von Dudley's Saying Grace

  13. I love Road Dogg but hearing that "ladies and gentlemen boys and girls" skit week after week after week for almost 2 years was highly annoying ! I mean he was still doing it in early 2000 when DX were nasty heels lol which I always thought was very strange

  14. @wrestlingbios I love this channel I'm literally on peacock watching week for week All 294 shows of wmraw and nitro in the war .I am a WWF guy threw and thre…So I remember and love all DX promos

  15. Eric Bischoff’s face during Warrior’s promo is absolutely priceless.

    “Please, shut, up.”
