I was around 140kg being 197 cm (6'5) because I broke my back last year, Now I am around 120 and I feel better and stronger than ever. 110 to 120 is the ideal body weight for me to maximize my strength, 85kg is absolutely insane to me.
bro what? 24 kg in 6 months is 1 kg per week, that's under 1% bodyweight per week from his starting point. how the hell is that an "extreme weight cut ", what planet are we living on at this point?
Nutrition is the field of fitness that remains the most bro-sciency, so I don't necessarily blame you if everyone says this or if very smart people keep saying things like this over and over as a tactic to make themselves seem like authorities that can protect people from the things they fear the most like losing their gains or getting fat again and thus deserve views, clients, and money to spout this misinformation, regardless if it helps or hurts.
This hurts though, this is misinformation, what this guy did is fine, scratch that it is fine af, losing 2lbs a week for 6 months is not extreme, it's not even the upper limit of fat loss you can lose and the only time you start to lose excess muscle mass is if you exceed the amount of fat loss your body can physically experience within a time frame and thus the extra energy to keep someone alive has to come from increased muscle breakdown. The rapid fat regaining people also warn against also does not happen in the way people claim it does. Does losing weight lower metabolism and can you get fat really quickly after losing a lot of weight? Yes, but a lower metabolism is naturally what happens when someone acquires a lower mass and putting weight back on is just a matter of people eating too much again in contrast to that metabolism, the rate of a previous weight loss does not matter significantly by comparison especially when it's not an extreme rate but EVEN when it's an extreme rate.
People say it to be on the safe side that you should diet down as slowly as possible but there's nothing really indicating that safe zone, just opinion articles based on absolute bullshit and they never explain the mechanism of action or even show horribly applied practical human trials, and the 1/10 times evidence based channels do try to back up their theories they google for science journals and post cherry picked outdated proven fraudulent biased studies from 1971 that have a sentence that supports their sentence but a vacant methodology that doesn't allow us to know how the study was performed and subsequently how we could even replicate it to verify if we could get the same results as that sentence…
This is why people think spot reduction doesn't work. 1970s articles said one tennis player's swinging arm had the same fat as the other arm thus spot reduction doesn't work. What did they control for? What confounding variables were possible? Now there's a 2017 study that proved in human trials that spot reduction does work and the confounding variable was the cross education effect of previous studies trying to compare left limb to right limb, since the new study looked at totally different limbs and how much fat they could lose with specific exercises… Science based channels like Layne Norton and Jeff Nippard still don't loan anything to this idea because of the crazy dogma that's grown around spot reduction not working, however the mechanism of action should make sense to people and it always was common sense.. LOCAL endurance training increases LOCAL blood flow, LOCAL capillary density, and LOCAL mitochondrial volume and respiration, all three things which are vital for beta oxidation and fat mobilization so doing these things should have some kind of effect on fat mobilization.
So if human trials and mechanistic action can prove spot reduction is not only possible but can drastically change total outcomes of fat loss and future distribution then how come everyone says nah? celebrities are gods but they are beholden to their cult of believers.
I've never heard anyone say this, but if you dirty bulk I suggest you do a body recomp instead of cutting. If you cut you're probably gonna be disappointed with the results. On the other hand , if you dirty bulked, put that extra mass to work and push some heavy weight. Instead of cutting, "replace" the fat with muscle.
He’s cutting about 2 lbs per week, I would not call that extreme dieting. I don’t agree with dirty bulking, but this is really far from crazy. I’ve done this and kept about 90% of my muscle mass. And you still eat very healthy.
Went from 235 5’6 – 147 5’8 in a year and half then bulked to 163 maintained for a month then cutting down to 155 where imma try to maintain through the summer. Hopefully soon imma do my first powerlifting meet imma try to total 1000 under 150 hopefully. So far I’m 2 years into my weight lose journey and year into my gym journey and its the best thing I’ve ever done. When I tried to bulk back up ofc the first 10 pounds where easy cuz I was eating like 1500 cals by the time I got to 147 bc my metabolism was fucked from prolonged dieting but after those 10 pound my 160 pound ass was eating 4k calories a day sleeping like 12 hours from the food comas and normal sleep and I struggled more then I’d like to admit to put on weight.
For me in 16 months I went from 230 to 170. Still losing weight but it’s a slow progress. It’s about seeing how far I can go while feeling my best. I’m general I look the best I’ve looked and feel amazing. It’s not easy and you do nap a lot from all the energy it takes to burn more and more calories especially after a hard workout but I love pushing myself

He looks like one of those strong men from the 1800's in his before shot. Kind of a cool different aesthetic.

I screwed up my first bulk and gained 40lb in a month and a half I am slowly cutting most of it was muscle but the cut is taking a long time
Dude must be like 5’6
Crazy cut. I'm around 106kg currently. 20kg loss is a bit much unless you're competing on the bodybuilding stage.
I think he’s in the same boat as me. I’m 240 lbs 6’2 I just cut down from 275lb. A bit more to go but I’m seeing abs so I’m on the right track
Bro went from lao to lou
Bro you one of the best no bs influencers unlike Mario ligma small calves guy

Bro lost so much wait he changed his nationality.
Bro went from asian to white
Inswear to god he changed races
I do not diet, just eat lesser than what I usually eat, especially rice and carbs.
He went from an asian wrestler to a lil white kid.
For a standard lifter, how long should my workout sessions be and how often?
From Chinese to Irish in 6 months is the craziest part about all of this.
Bro switched races
Yes you do need to bulk that hard

Bro stopped being Asian

Bro that’s just over 1kg a week. It’s not drastic at all. That’s aggressive but in no unhealthy or dangerous
He would not have retained more size if he did a less aggressive bulk followed my a slower cut
