This is why practicing around the green is more important than practicing your putting
This is a fair stat, but it doesn’t tell the whole story, while they may not hole that many, they often leave themselves with tap ins, even from those long putts
Many believe that they should have higher percentages because of how tournaments are covered on tv. Last year I took the opportunity to go to an LPGA event and that greatly opened my eyes to what good golf actually looks like.
Interesting stats. Probably a bigger reason pros are better putters is proximity to the hole.
So here's what I'd like to know then, if that percentage is so low, how are these pros breaking par every round on every course? Are their approaches closer? Are they putting a little better than statistics would say that day?
Also, pros have perfect greens to putt on … perfect
I still expect a solid 5% from myself, my opinion hasnt changed
My aim is. . .once on the green average a 2 putt if I'm under 36 putts it's been a good day.
I guess it depends on the quality of the putting surface and also the break within the 6 feet – i bet the tour pro has a lot more breaking putts at 6 feet. I'd like to hole 45% i guess.
Be interesting to know their stats for 4 feet and 3 feet – i bet they are quite high. My stats for that are probably at 60-65%.
75%. You think the best putters in the world aren't trying to overachieve? Neither should you.
You can either achieve and get left behind or you can over achieve and keep up. Your choice.
Also PGA pros play on greens that are generally more true to their line.
