  1. What’s appalling is pace of play in amateur golfers. Florida has more golf courses than anywhere in the world, yet are all packed with foursomes, that can easily make for a six hour round.

  2. Matt fitz is completely correct, and Cantlay is as slow as a snail. They should be docked world ranking points or stroke penalties, that would speed them up, it is ruining the PGA tour brand!

  3. It really is unfair to point out just Patrick, he waits at the tees for other golfers too. He is easy to pick out but there are a lot of guys out there taking the same amount of time as Cantley. Put a shot clock on them all if you want to do anything about it. PGA can cure it tomorrow.

  4. Officials need to implement feasible rules on pace of play and penalize perpetrators with strokes added.

  5. To all who cry about slow play.. imagine in your job or workplace if you were told to work faster. And if you make one tiny mistake your going to loose an hours pay…

Would you say, yes that is ok I'm happy to accept that.

Say a mechanic is working on your car, the brake replacement needs 4 hours, do you hurry the person to finish as fast as possible and cut corners. Or do you allow him to compete the task to the very best of his abilities??

  6. PENALIZE PLAYERS ACCORDING TO THE RULES, that's why the rules are written. If the referees don't enforce the rules then FIRE THE REFS and hire new ones. Cantlay is a disgrace to golf!!! Such a selfish prick to play like he is in his own world!

  7. Got news for you two clowns….spectators and their support for sponsors PAY for this game….don't go after the spectators

  8. I'm always amazed at how the player on the green who's turn it is NOT, stands there doing nothing, waiting for the other player to go through all of his work getting ready to putt. Actually, he could be doing all of his looking and planning while the other player is doing his. (Of course hold still and be out of line of sight when the competitor is stroking his putt) Then, when it's his turn to putt, he's about ready to go. Faster play is not rocket science.

  9. Isn't it a bit unprofessional to say that another player's round, is affecting your score card?
This is the PGA, where excuses don't win tournaments, and you don't get to pick who you play with.
It's inappropriate to complain like that, even if he is right. There is a time and a place to voice these concerns
A more experienced professional would know better than to cry to the press about someone else's play.

  10. This is like trying to get a major league football/soccer referee to give a red card for an obvious dive. All they have to do is…. ANYTHING…. but they don't. If the FIFA refs were giving out red cards for acting and diving, it would instantly be solved. Likewise, if the PGA were giving out penalties for obvious slow play, it too, would be……. INSTANTLY SOLVED. But they aren't going to do anything because it gets ratings and when people get angry they generate revenue for them. It's quite pathetic. Anyone with common sense and good character knows how to handle this so the fact that the PGA won't do anything about it shows their low character and refusal to use common sense.

  11. The slow players use it to there advantage. When a fast player has to wait it messes with their mind. It's so disrespectful but these guys don't give a shit.

  12. Let the fans bring the issue into the light of day. I’m totally OK with pace of play vigilantism. The Tour owns this, and, frankly, doesn’t give a sh*t. Pace of play absolutely trickles down to the club level.

  13. Sadly it seems to rub off on the weekend warriors. Not unusually for a 4.5-5 hour round. I'm 60 and can easily play a round in 3 hours especially if I played in twosomes like these guys do on the weekends. Just how many practice swings do need? I never take a practice swing unless I have a very uneven lie and I'm trying to figure out exactly where my low point will be on the ground. Standing over the ball with 20 different swing thoughts running through your head is not helping. I promise you that. Pick a club. Take a couple of waggles to get comfortable & hit the damn ball!!

  14. Install electric zapper in all golf grips which activates when club is held for more than 2 minutes without hitting the ball.

  15. The guy is behind a tree he takes 5 minutes to hit in the greenside bunker, then chips it across the green into the hazard, drops puts it on the green and three putts. Yep I've seen it happen on the PGA tour. Theirs a few Jordan Spieth videos that make me cringe.
