The first European to win The Masters, Seve Ballesteros paved the way a generation of golfers.

Since 1934, the Masters Tournament has been home to some of golf’s greatest moments. Amidst blooming azaleas, towering pines and flowering dogwoods, the first full week of April ushers in a stage unique to golf and to sport. Over four days and 72 holes, the smallest field in major championship golf competes for a chance to capture the Green Jacket and a place in Masters history.

  1. Still to this day i can't believe that the great man is no longer with us, seve thanks for the entertainment 👍😉

  2. Still the most artistic, graceful and esthetically pleasing golf swing I can think of. RIP.

  3. Golf today is a science. Growing up watching him, it was a mythical art. Saw him at Lythmn in 88, you can't imagine now what it was like to see him then.

  4. Had the pleasure of watching him play locally to where I live at The Belfry. To this day, I haven’t seen a swing or heard a ball crack like how Seve could do it. Charisma is too small a word for what the man possessed.
I remember seeing him walking thru the crowd entering the practice range and then right past me at one of the Ryder Cups at The Belfry. The ROAR from the crowd that greeted him onto the range was like the greeting roar a huge crown would give to a superstar rock star who had entered onto the stage. It was an unbelievable experience. I kind of felt sorry for his opponent that day. I thought, if this is the reception Seve is getting on the practice range, what’s it going to be like out on the course? Truly wonderful memories of a top flight professional sportsman!

  5. Most charismatic, naturally talented and handsome man that ever walked a golf course.
He’s the one that made fans scream and run.
Seve was the Elvis of Golf.
