Great individual shot results with blades, or better average results with your Mizuno fitted irons? That's not a golf question – more like a psychological question. Better peaks or better averages. Never thought a Yorkshire lad would be posing philosophical questions. For me, an old Yorkshire man, better averages are more important.
I just ordered a set of ZX7/Z Forged II combos. Missed my Z Forged. My T100s are awesome don't get me wrong but they don't quite have that buttery feel that the Srixons do. And with how small and thin they are there's not a ton of difference there.
Love the videos where you guys swap clubs and or try someone else’s. Really enjoy hearing your comments. I recently switched from TaylorMade SIM2 irons ( clunky) to Srixon zx5 /zx7 combo. They look so much nicer at address instilling a lot more confidence.
No James. Sometimes we need to put the ego away for a moment and be realistic. I love the P790. I also realize I cant hit them consistently and there really is no point in trying to convince myself I can.
I’d like some vids over 9 holes or more. Especially if it’s different courses as it gives me ideas as to where I might like to play as a change to my home course. Longer vids give me more of an idea if it’s somewhere I might try.
James. You seem to gravitate towards the blades in general. My vote…. Put them in..! Then UT or hybrid for the three or four irons. 🤙🏻 I enjoyed the video.
Been playing Callaway Apex CF19's. This year, I have tried the Mizuno JPX 923 Hot Metal Pro's, Ping G430's, and PXG Gen5 P's, nothing came close to beating my Apex's, so in the bag they stay.

I'm a Titleist ap2 gamer. Played with some t100 irons while on holiday. Got back home and ordered a set of the black limited edition irons. Hit 4 of the best 7 iron approach shots of my life. It was a mixed set with 4 and 5 in t200. I hit the 4 iron 250 yards. Insanely good.
James, super excited for you and Laura's adventure into parenthood. My twin daughters will be 3 weeks old tomorrow so I already feel your upcoming pain with lack of sleep and lots of diapers. Best wishes!
There is no doubt that you are a strong enough player to play blades, I just don’t see any reason too. I know they look amazing in the bag but, they will punish you on days when you might not be swinging so well. I think you should roll with what you are currently playing. Hard to beat a Mizuno half cavity!
James, It's a recurring theme on your channel, should I use this blade, should I use that blade. then you tell us you used to use blades when you were younger but you weren't good enough back then. Then you ultimately decide you are not good enough to use blades and go back to your own clubs( which you hit very well ) commit to your own clubs and enjoy the golf
Well, I game SIM2 MAX OS Irons, but over the weekend, I went to DICK's Sporting Goods and tested out a STEALTH 2022 7 IRON in the test center. Theyre a bit different to look down upon, but I was very impressed with the distance and forgiveness. Also tried the CALLAWAY ROGUE ST MAX OS and I LOVED the feel I got in my hands with a pure shot. I will make up my mind after this season, when their prices go down a bit more. I use a midsize grip and Ventus 6 graphite shafts, but the test irons were steel.
You’ve always enjoyed the Takomo’s all the way back when first hit them. By the way your first few Takomo videos are why I tried them and still play them today.
I do play the combo set of takomo 301 and can't say that the CBs are much more forgiving than the MBs… There's a tiny difference, but really that's not night and day. The feel is a tiny bit better with the blades, however, and I often second guess myself and think that I should have gone full MB… Anyway, the CBs are still very nice, so I'm a happy camper as it is!
I'm still using my mizuno MP4s. They are absolutely amazing and smooth. Gonna be hard to find another set that is as sleek and buttery feeling as them.

Nothing is sweeter than a struck blade, but do you need to make golf more difficult? I recommend getting all of the forgiveness you can.
I use the takomo 101 irons and I love them.HAd callaway mavriks before them and the takomo irons feel so much better.
This video is too short, like you I think at least 9 holes would be more enjoyable to watch.
I would definitely keep the Mizunos…I can't imagine those Takomo feeling better…

Did the 3 peaks a few months ago and then played a round of golf the day after. Now I’ve got 4 less toenails than I used to have 😂

I just put the mizuno mp-32’s back in the bag. They really make you concentrate better
