The Callaway driver to me has a dead sound and feel!
Where would you throw the 0211 Xcor2 between these two? I’m leaning towards them at the moment…
Am very happy with my Tour Edge E722 irons as they are very forgiving for this 66 year old golfer…do love your reviews as they seem very detailed and unbiased…good job…
just ordered the Paradyms. but i am callaway iron player going back nearly 30yrs
Which player’s district irons do you think are the best?
Most players want irons that, while in the bag, make them look like a low handicap player. Why make the game hard. I play off 6 and have gone from cobra mim tour irons to stealth irons… doesn't bother me they are classed as game improvement irons when i play off 6 with them . Its the score on the card that counts
Loft wise. My old Petron mk3s bladed PW is 55 deg. SW 60. The set also had a 10W.
I went for a fitting for the 790s, paradym, Mizuno 225 and pxg gen6 irons. Ended up with the gen 6 311p, never played a PXG club in my life but for me they were the best iron out there.
I have replaced my Nike blades that I've had for 14 years with the Callaway Paradym. So happy with them. Making golf easier shouldn't be looked down on. I'm a single figured handicapper hoping to get down to 5 this year.
I am playing the 790 for more than a year and simply loving them. Feel good, sound good, reasonable easy to hit
Hi Andy
Is it just me or do you stay away from reviewing Titleist’s clubs ?
I notice other you tubers also stay away from them ?
Surely the T200 must be a good alternative to these clubs ?
Thanks
These clubs are so incredibly expensive. What exactly does the "average" part of "average golfer" actually mean here?
Wish the Mizuno 225 was in this video too. They are the 3 irons I am looking to test. Playing the Mizuno HM irons, but want to move into something better looking and feeling. Taylor Made and Callaway just have a lot more shaft options, as i need a grafite shaft.
In a few months when callaway bring out a new driver.. The paradigm will be old.. (just like maverick) . P790 will still be p790
Hey Andy…… I just upgraded to the APEX DCB’s at the end of last year….They have been great 4 my level of game. I’m getting both better game improvement, distance and OK….they sound some what clicky on solid strikes… but over all they helped me improve and enjoy my time on the course. It seems to me that Callaway has taken a lot of their technology in the Apex line and maybe used it in the new Paradigm.
I have always liked the P790, but the club is just a little too large for my eye. P770 would be my ideal club, were it not for the i210s which are just a little better in my hands.
Paradym is just a bit too chunky for my eye.
As for performance, it was exactly what I expected based on the lofts with spin rates just a little lower than I would like given the loft.
Started in July, actually index 32 and switching from my 1/2 SGI Wilson set to some Paradym irons with stiff graphite shaft.
Regarding the price, I've decided to order 1 or 2 irons at a time, I'll get the first ones on Wednesday 🙂 .
Love the out takes at the end, made me chuckle. I've been using my P790's for just over a year having upgrading fron my Ping G15's. Even though the latter were "game improvers" I knew about it when hit out the toe or thin, a real testament to the way technology has improved as wirh the new clubs I only notice a poor shot with the slight drop in distance and checking the face for the strike mark. If I'm honest I've nearly missed the ball sometimes.
Good information…
Went to club fitting at Heswall with pre determined mindset. Ping or 790's that was it. Then came the Paradym's. Wow. Dispertion and feel absolutely fantastic. All i can say if give them a go. At the moment don't feel like i can hit a bad shot with them. Top end clubs came improvement for lower handicaps (i am 12). 👍
that damn p790 is allways everywhere! pisses my a bit! but…hhah..wouldnt mind owning a set! never tried them..should try!
good job!!
Love the channel Andy. Do you think the spin on the Paradym is on the poor side? Will they struggle to stop on greens?
Callaway would be better with no colors on back of irons. Sorry not a fan. Looks cheap. Not a fan of jacked lofts either. TM, Srixon Mizuno players irons look better. Plus, if angle of decent isn’t enough those low spin shots won’t hold.
Have 2011/2012 Callaway Razr xf forged in my bag…definitely game improvement and not coming out of my bag…BUT if I were to replace paradigm would definitely be a contender (hcp 7 btw).
Just got fit and have tried all the top brands. P790 we’re the best by far for feel, consistency, and looks for me.
Callaway a had zero feel. Nice clubs but too muted for feedback. Felt dead almost.
The 790s have exceeded my expectations. Exceptionally consistent, tight dispersion, and have not let me down.
I tried both of those clubs and they were OK but I ended up getting the Mizuno 923 HoTMetaL the feel and sound was way better. The look was very good. Also no hate for any of the other clubs just my opinion and I’m real happy with the Mizuno
How the Paradym irons keep their finish is my concern. Even though I use the dreaded iron covers, my previous set of Rogue ST irons looked very shabby after 50 rounds with little range time. Has anyone had a set in the bag for more than 25-30 rounds and how they holding up?
Andy, the dry-ball data showed identical heights so I assume the land angle was also similar, but slightly favouring the P790. With a 1000 rpm difference in spin, one would expect the P790 to stop a lot faster on the green. Was that your experience?
Sounds like you would like the P770
