    A good translation, though not literal, of „Dreikäsehoch“ would probably be "knee-high“

    Die Redewendung sturmfrei kommt wie viele andere auch aus dem Krieg. Niemand ist am Ort, er ist also frei um ihn zu stürmen (überrennen). 😊
