One thing I think you omitted, but obviously know, ALL irons have bounce angle. I find this very important with many ‘modern clubs’ because they have jacked up their lofts. For example, if I were to replace my Miura’s with many new sets, I’d be going from a 36* 7-iron to a 29-32* 7-iron, in most cases. If I then have that say 32* 7-iron that commonly would be 5* bounce bent to my preferred 36* loft, I’ve now got a 7-iron w/9* bounce. No bueno. For the most part, my next set of clubs will likely be custom Miura’s where set is ground to my desired specs. If I were to choose ‘off the rack’ I’d have to completely reset my gapping and usage, likely adding a 4th wedge to my bag.
I’d also add I rotate through a total of 6 wedges through the season, differing both in loft and bounce. The only constant is my 48* PW. I however typically carry my highest bounce SW in dry Summer conditions, not the wet conditions you stated. In early Summer, after snow melts, the bunker sand is wet, heavy and often extremely hard. I use a 58/6 wedge in those conditions. As weather warms, bunkers dry, that fine sand becomes light and fluffy, ideally suited for my 54/13 laid way open. In general I would say bounce is our friend, understanding it allows us to better use it when needed or defeat it with a rearward placed ball in stance
It would be interesting and fun to test bounce/grind combinations to see if there’s something more beneficial to hitting the low spinner shots from say, 75 to 25 yards in.
Great video. Actually considered getting new wedges the last week. Can you do I video on shaft for wedges as it's a very overlooked part unlike loft and bounce.
I play in AZ desert conditions(tight/firm), so play a 56*-8* SW as any higher bounce just "bounces" off the hard sand and causes a skulled shot. However, even off tight/firm fairways, I have trouble hitting a full shot due to the low bounce as it anything even slightly fat digs a lot. Can anything be done other than to carry two SW's? Does sole width have an impact on "effective" bounce?
Surprised no comment about turf condition or bunkers, nor the benefit of different bounce options being good in a wedge set – many top tour pro’s have high bounce 56 & low bounce 60 – 4 mins is too short for this subject I reckon

Bounce = the enemy

Can someone clarify the Sports Illustrated intro? This is the 2nd video that TXG has greeted us with this intro and I think I’m missing something.
Ok what did I miss? Created for Sports Illustrated? 5,034 views in in 44 minutes….🤔
Where’s the driver bracket video this week lads?? The suspense is too much!

Got any water wedges in stock😶 pishin it doon ower here😂
Isn't the launch a little high for 50 yard shot with this amount of spin? especially off a mat.

Very soft out in Alberta, high bounce makes a big difference reducing the amount of chips I fat in a round
