I hope it was an anomaly but I went to the Flyers/Wild game and it was so boring. I've always sat behind the goal, for any level of hockey I think It's the best seats in the house. But even then, guys don't even hit anymore they just like get contact and roll off each other and nudge each other into the boards. The skill is there obviously it's a game and that's the point to be the best and score the most goals but I just can't believe that even in the last 10-15 years how watered down the game has become. It's not the same game I grew up loving. Next to no competitive hatred. I was heartbreaking really. In not even old I'm a 90s kid and the game has changed even since then.
