  1. Nick is just wrong. He is letting his dislike for Mac Jones influence his opinion.

No other NFL team would put their first round QB in this situation

Can you imagine the Bengals having a defensive coach be the OC … run the Cinci offense and a special teams coach be the QB coach for Joe Burrow. … How about Jalen Hurts … Or Justin Herbert … NO

The OC and QB coach are critial for the development of a quarterback. One has only to look at Josh Allen … He improved under Brain Daboll … Daboll leaves and Josh Allen regresses.

Most organizations are trying to support their QBs by addressing weaknesses and adding to the supporting cast. … OTs … WRs … TEs … building a system around their stengths

No matter what you think of Mac or the 6 chips – the greatness of Bill B. His approach is just wrong. The oposite of supporting the needs of a second year player

No one …. I mean no one is doing it that way … How can Nick defend Bill B.'s unusual approach

  2. Just remember jones had a better year then burrow and won the title 1 year after burrows greatest college year ever. Was not expecting that after he sat behind hurts and Tua.

  3. Belichick is ~50% in wins/losses since Brady left. In his career (including with Browns as head coach), he is 79-87 without Tom Brady. At some point, we have to start questioning how good a coach he can be without an all-time great at QB. The decision to have Judge/Patricia as offensive coordinators last year was as dumb as it gets.

  4. As a Detroit Lions fan, let me rebuff Nick's opinion. I do not want to pay that much money (in a salary cap sport), for a player who's worse in a lot of ways to the QB we have (Goff), plus give up two first-round picks, preventing us from improving our defense or getting offensive pieces. Lamar is a worse passer, more injury-prone and less-available overall, unprofessional as a face of your franchise (see social media posts), bad with the media, a simply comes with more drama. Plus, all the reports that he doesn't take care of himself… diet… training… sleep, not committed and uninterested in team meetings, etc. Let your Chiefs trade for him lol.

  5. "She'll make rules for the Beta, while breaking them for the Alpha." If Lamar was "that guy" then like Nick said, "some owner would pay the cost for this man."

  6. I agree with everything except Colin saying it's a weak QB class. It's way better than last yr. Young and Stroud are stars imo, Richardson and Levis could be. Next yr w Caleb Williams, Maye, and McCarthy may be a better class, but this yrs is good

  7. Lamar Jackson is very good…But Lamar Jackson is also very seldom Healthy….And the most important trait for a QB is "Availability"….

And yes, the backup QB would have to be just as similar of a player to make the entire system work.
A luxury that most teams just can't afford when the starter thinks he deserves the entire bank.

  8. The guy on the left talking on my screen is usually wrong the Patriots not Bill Belichick should have get rid of Mac Jones he has no place playing for the Patriots we a veteran someone who don't throw interceptions. Case closed this is a fact nothing more to talk about if you're from New England like I am people want to see wins not a quarterback throwing a ball in the visitor team Mac Jones is good but he don't belong on the Patriots get rid of him😅

  9. This is crazy!!!! Tua is not better than Mac, he’s just not. You put Mac on the dolphins and his numbers instantly and drastically change. Does he have a Josh Allen or Mahomes level arm, no, obviously. But he can make every throw necessary, he’s smart, decisive and accurate. Drew Bree’s made a career out of being that type of player. This past season was not at all anywhere close to being Mac’s fault. It’s bill and his stupid decisions and his inability to draft and develop offensive talent. When it comes to that stuff. Brady was the reason for the offensive success. Brady has one of the most underrated arms in history. We saw what he could do with moss. But he never really had a true, deep threat. It was Gronk ( when he was healthy “ and a bunch of short slot WR’s and RB’s who could cath and we’re basically slot WR’s for instance James White. Bill is great at defense. So he provided Brady with that and the first two years bill was still coaching up Brady and teaching him the game. But even bill has said that by year three. Brady was so smart and put in so much time and dedication to his craft that he was “ able to have conversations at a higher level than anyone I have ever been around as far as a player or a coach “. Bill last great offensive player drafted was Gronk. Since then, Brady had to make it work with whoever was on offense and won by making sure they knew where to be at perfect time. And getting them to just “ do their job “. Which is why Brady wasn’t airing it out a ton. He took what the defense gave him. If there was a deep shot open, he would take it. If a three yard screen pass was open, he would take it. Max isn’t on that level yet. Going into year three we should be expecting to see a huge jump from year 1, growth in year two and then a leap forward year three. But instead Bill screwed him by trying ti be cute and letting people run the offense for Mac, who had NO business being in charge of calling an offense whatsoever. Yet, people want to harp on the fact that Mac was frustrated? No S___T, who wouldn’t be? You don’t take risk like that with a guy who’s still learning ti be a pro. You shouldn’t even do that with a veteran. But at least if it’s a guy like Rodgers/ Brady/ manning etc. who are de facto OC’s on their own. Then maybe you can try it. But you don’t do that to your second year franchise guy. If they get rid of Mac after a terrible second season and blame him. That’ll be the most ridiculous thing ever. Bill is letting his massive ego take over and is “ offended “ that mac was seeking help/ advice. Because he knows his career was on the line. Because nowadays, guys get two years… maybe three to prove they’re the guy. Year two for Mac shouldn’t count against him. Let’s see what he can do with a real OC and HOPEFULLY Bill drafts some serious fire power at WR to help. But I don’t trust him enough. So if I was RKK I would be telling him to get some MAJOR help in the draft and scouting of new players. And as much as I love bill for what he’s done for my patriots. If he doesn’t make some changes and bring in fire power to help and we have a losing record/ miss the playoffs. He should definitely be on the hot seat. Especially since our last playoff win was all the way back on 2019. When Brady took a skeleton crew to the SB and won. The team was so bad that Brady was like “ I’m not going to get coached the way he coaches, while not building a solid team and wasting my last few years on a team with no help! “. Brady leaves and proves he still had it. Winning the SB and then playing at an MVP level, then unfortunately getting robbed and it going to Aaron Rodgers. Even though Brady was better than him in most statistical categories and the few areas Rodgers did have him beat. It wasn’t by much. Bill has lost his fastball. He is still a great defensive minded coach, probably the best in the league still. But his ignorance on offense is costing our team and possibly his chance to retire with the record for most wins.

  10. As a Lifelong Detroit Lions fan I believe that I know The Lions well enough to answer what Nick suggested in why won't they go after Lamar Jackson. Nick said "The Lions almost made the playoffs with Jared Goff". I believe that The Lions would not have been that good without Jared Goff. The Lions showed patience and trust with Goff and he responded with a very good season. This Lions team has been built around and for Goff's strength and weaknesses. Goff has earned the right to be The Lions QB1. Right now there are many local reports of Goff being a part of some offseason work with Amon Ra St Brown, Jameis Williams, and others. I'm a huge Lamar Jackson fan but I don't think it's a good fit in Motown right now.

  11. Saying Lamar Jackson passing is not good is miss leading. He has holes but so does many other qbs and obviously the ravens don't have a problem with him passing bc the new oc they just hired. I will say if he had to play comprised and rely on his passing only how is his decision making?? That we don't know. But last two years he at one point was in the top of pass and rushing yards. I'd take him over Trevor rn

  12. Nick Wright is a one of the dumbest TV personalities in any discipline. There's no reason he should be successful outside making extreme takes a yelling. He's the opposite of what it means to be a journalist

  13. Second best sports radio host only behind Colin Cowherd? Are you kidding me? Has Nick never heard of Jim Rome? Jim Rome is by far the most successful sports radio host ever. Colin and Nick on their best days couldn’t hold a candle to what Jim Rome has accomplished. Nick is seriously clueless.

  14. Lamar wants a three year deal to see what Jalen Hurts, Justin Herbert, and Joe Burrow get in the next two off seasons. And that's the issue.

  15. how far have you ascended, Colin. you need to abandon your modesty and tell us how great you are, without delay.

  16. Jeez, leave it to these two backslappers to make this mostly about their own incredible careers

  17. Don't hate on jerred goff. He was balling out last season with elite accuracy and decision making.

  18. Drew Brees didn’t bomb with the Chargers. He was on the up and up with them until he got injured. The Chargers organization decided to stick with Philip Rivers. Had Drew not gotten injured I think the Chargers trade Rivers.

  19. I’d take Goff over Jackson all day long! your take is horrible!!! Jackson isn’t taking any team to a Super Bowl.

  20. Belichick has went on a senile bender since Brady left. His brain is scrambled eggs! He's hiring his fucking kids and loser coaches to be his coaches. It's a shit show in NE, a dumpster fire, a clown show. Mac needs to get the fuck out of there asap!

  21. Nick just glossed over the biggest issue, and that was the fact Jones is only getting 80 mill in guarantees. The Ravens offered 133 mill, he said no. He wants 230 plus, so that’s why no one is excited about Lamar. They’ll see what happens in the draft

  22. Drew Brees didn't "bomb" in San Diego. He showed great promise there. Then he suffered a serious shoulder injury and the Chargers didn't want to gamble on him.

  23. Funny how journalists that can t make anything else up to talk about makes it about themselves. Pretty obvious there is no longer anything worthwhile writing about. Oh, I know about me. There you go.

  24. Lamar Jackson sucks for the amount of money he wants..no way
…get a cheaper QB and some offensive tackle sedge rushers and safeties..for this much you could bring in a ton of talent…just not nearly worth the money…

  25. Nick Wright: “Do I express every one of my thoughts and make every point in the form of a question about my own opinion and then answer said question? Yeah, yeah I do.” Do I do it more than anyone else on tv or radio? I’m absolutely in the top 10.”

  26. Being better than 20 starters isn't good enough if you have to pay the guy like he's the best QB. That's Lamar's and Dak's problem. The Cowboys have pushed virtually all of dak's money down the road to try and build a team they can win with with him. And you know what, it's likely not going to be enough.

Mahomes loses his best weapon, has a badly sprained ankle, and still wins the SB. Brady constantly had Belichick undermining the talent on the team getting rid of their best players or sitting their best CB, because he got some wild hair across his butt, and Brady won championships. Allen and Burrow have to literally carry their teams on their backs week in and week out. They don't even have a Belichick or Reid to at least outsmart the other sideline every week to help them out. Herbert is doing everything he can but he can't do it all with just his arm again with a sideline that doesn't do him any favors. The Ravens are a fantastically run organization. Lamar is a typical dual threat QB. Which means if you take away him making plays with his legs and he's screwed. And you can almost be guaranteed in the playoffs you are going to run into a defense like that.

Lamar is just trying to make bank. That's his only concern, that's all he cares about. let him do that elsewhere. That's what Rodgers has become, that's what Dak has always been, that's what Cousins has always been, and that's what Watson is all about. None of those guys are likely to ever win anything with that as their priority.

  27. Nick hates Mac Jones. Doesn't matter how dumb bill's decisions are, he'll defend all of it to take a cheap shot at Mac. It's just dumb.

  28. Someone will give him chance if he is cheap enough. For Kraft, he should be asking, "What have you done for me lately" to Bill. Offer Jones up cheap enough to the Raiders, Josh will take him. Jimmy G is fragile.

  29. Nick just continually ignores the fact that we only scored 28 in the baily zappe games with defensive touchdowns, and the fact that because of injury the bears game and the detriot game ended up being against the worst defenses the league would see all year. our offense did not score 28 all year no matter who was under center. indictment on the coaching staff.

detriot was playing Randoms at corner because ALL OF THEIR CORNERS GOT INJURED. like literally 5 injured corners that game when most teams only carry 4-5 to game day. and the bears were just the league worst defense with their starters. like please, if your gonna tell me zappe is better than mac, or zappe is pushing mac, stop quoting stats and watch the film. they didn't trust zappe for any difficult throws, and the ONE deep throw he attempted into busted coverage to meyers, HE MISSED, and meyers had to bail him out with an amazing catch. zappe can't throw accurate even into busted coverages!

  30. Did I hear that correctly? Was Colin Cowherd imply that Drew Brees bombed with the Chargers?

  31. I would like to listen to their insights but I can't with the language they use. Have some class gentlemen.

  32. Colin is def irritated but what Bill is doing cause this the most I’ve ever heard him cuss😂😂

  33. How is switch Lamar and Herbert and LA would’ve been playing in a Super Bowl by now. You can’t Trevor, Herbert, Allen are better than Lamar when Lamar has been throwing to Walmart employees since he’s been in the league outside of Mark Andrews. And they guy the was supposed to be in guy to fix that in Rashod Bateman can’t even stay on the field
