I use Golfnow when I am traveling. I rely on the ratings/comments to see about course conditions (is it a dog track?). Nicest is Maderas golf course (near San Diego, ) worst— I've played some dog tracks south of Seattle.
I walk my local course for $7 in the spring and fall, it's usually $9 in summer but I think it'll be $10 to walk this year. Awesome little 9 hole course, linksy style a bit, I describe it as a hole in the wall course. Not a super well known course in my area, but it's a lovely little 9 hole course with a nice variety of holes, 3 par 3s, 3 par 4s, 3 par 5s, The Links by the Tracks in Cortland, Ohio
Gee, you really missed an opportunity, you could have driven a little ways and played the entirely cringe-worthy course in downtown San Angelo. Check out Robby the Cringe Golfer's channel, he is trying to shame San Angelo in to actually putting some money in to what was once a nice muni. And he has fun with his channel as well.
I have a 9 hole course close to my house that I can play for $12 but in much much better condition. I usually take the wife and kids to play on Sunday. Great video
In my town, we have a nice 9 holes, par 30, executive course we can play for 10$ cdn. I’m there at least once a week just to get the short game consistent. I’ve learned more playing this little course than any full length par 72, 18 holes. Really enjoyed this one! Keep up the good work!
I played a course an hour plus southwest of there for the same price and it looked just as bad. They gave us hats because we were from out of town had fun
There's another course I played a few times over the yrs in North Carolina that has a creek running through it and houses on every high side of the course. Everything funnels to the water. We were hitting OB into ppls yards and still ending up in the hazard on the opposite side of the fairway
James I play a league that's a 9 hole course par 31. The longest is 300 protected by a pond. The greens are large enough to park 2 sedans on. They're tiny. I literally play a 5 wood on 3 of the par 4's and 8iron wedge into the other par 4 that is protected by a 65-70 yard wide pond. There is literally about 10 yards between the pond and the green. And woods 10yrads behind it. The pond wraps around into waste land to the left of the green while a huge maple protects the right side merely 7 yards away from the green. You have to carry and stick 265. The place forces you to play irons. I love it. It does however play very hard, surface wise. Great video as always
You need to come play one of my local courses James. Voted in the top 10 of quirky courses in the UK and it's like £15 a round!! Much better condition than that course too 👌🏼
Come to South Africa. You'll play 18 on a real course for the same amount. Not mentioning that it never snows and golf can be played throughout the year
We have a couple of bad courses like this in my area. Point University in Lanette, AL, and Country Club of Alabama in Eufaula, AL. The conditions are brutal because of poor maintenance.

I might add that for $10 that is really good.
There is a 9, par 34 hole course in Waukesha, Wisconsin for $13.
There is definitely a cheaper par 3 in Syracuse NY. Come up here in June and play some of the nicer courses, and some of the value finds as well 👍
Great value course 👍

Definitely variety in the US
My last career allowed me to travel to various southern states in the winter months. I've played a lot of "south eastern" winter condition's.
I was bitten by a brown recluse while in TX last time I was there.
Golf Now is ok but it is often a good idea to check the course itself. Some it is cheaper at the venue.

go Heritage Ranch Golf and Country Club – the Most Beautiful Golf Course in Dallas! played there very often!

Can't believe they paid $10 for a course the locals play for free…. They just walk in off the street lol
Makes you appreciate Wooley Park that much more.
I'm lucky enough to have a local 9 hole 18 Tee course 5625 yards that's £10 a day during the week , play all you want.

I almost exclusively use golf now to book clubs other than my home course. Easy to use and always get a deal.
Come and have a go at billingbear near Bracknell. They have a lovely 9 hole full course and a fantastic fun 9 hole par 3. Brilliant fun.
