Jonas was pretty lucky that it was Landa that came across to him on the climb. Not many better wheels to follow on a descent. I was worried Landa would drop him in the corners but he managed to cling on
I guess we’re ALL Eddie Merckx at the bottom of the hill!!! LOL
EF & Carapaz poked Macaulay Culkin, the rest is history.
Chris, why aren’t you doing the NBC tour coverage this year? All the NBC tour viewers are the losers. My wife and I will miss your live commentary. I look forward to your daily coverage of all races.
You add so much to our understanding of race tactics, and I’ve been riding and watching for 30 years.
Nice to see Rigo up there two days in a row. Thx Chris!
I agree with your assessment of who the top riders are and we agree number two is Primoz. Love to see him ride more classics and race the tour while still in his prime. I think without injuries he is the best tour rider on Jumbo.
And Juan Manuel Garate was a climber, right? So why have the team attack Jonas on the steepest part, Garate should know better. Did he have so much faith in his team to try to take on last year's TdF winner? I guess so. He won't do that again in the remaining stages
Everything's all right now, we got a former teammate sighting from Chris! 😀
34th….Still good enough to make the TDF roster !
That last descent was intense just to watch – Jonas & Landa looked like downhill slalom skiers going around all those turns. Great riding by both – no fear👊
LOL, this is like the "knucklehead" school of racing!! But not Jonas! Great tactics!!
Chris looks like a Marvel character in that final still, displaying his cycling superpowers as the Silver Beetle. 😀
Hey Chris, How about Merhawi Kudus? He is good climber but always domestic worker.
Chris, you should be a director. You’d win every race and never be a knucklehead
These are the tactics of Captain Zeeman.
I saw no txapelas. 😢(Yeah, I looked it up.😆)
Great job Chris..You can't get a better breakdown anywhere then right here..👊🦋
Chris alot of teams could use your talent as a D.S. Have you ever thought about it?
Chris, you keep getting better. Awesome video today
What a play by play recap!! I felt like I was there Chris!! Great, great job!! No one does it like you man!
Chris EF should hire you. They constantly do knucklheaded things. Wish you could put together a US team. You would be a great da.
Awesome analysis as always Chris. You are my first stop after every race. Wonder if you have ever thought about running the audio as a podcast on spotify? I know that it might make understanding the race timings hard to follow without visuals, but I think the convenience would be worth it!
Jonas made EF look like juniors pretending to be grand tour riders.
your insight here is also money Chris. I enjoy every minutes of it.
You should be DS for sure…thanks a lot for your vedioes
EF is starting to look like Movistar desperately tactics. Thinking that they’re the strongest team 😂
Thanks
Hey Chris, do you think it would have been better for EF to make chaves actually attack on the steep part instead of pulling like he did? Then maybe Uran and Carapaz could have tried to sit on Vingegaard’s wheel. As it was, I feel like EF just pulled like 4 domestiques for Jonas, keeping him out of the wind for the whole climb.
Well done
LOL on Carapaz… He is such a failure. The EF Colombians are making him clear who lead and deserve top spot on the Grand Tours teams. If he doesn't do anything relevant in TDF (top 5 or a stage) or podium in La Vuelta, he doesn't look too have a future in the team… maybe he will become the new Nairo (drama queen)?
Only you Christ explain so well..! Great Jonas!💛💛💛
Thanks Chris for your videos. My wife and I are loyal viewers. A question: you said Pogacar is #1, Primoz#2, Remco #3. In your opinion where is Vingegard?
Jonas positioning is just good…..and i believe he's smart he knows when to atack and when to not ride…..poor landa in decent was looking better than vingagard…but didn't drope him and that final corner was bad timing for landa he could win it……and wtf was carapaz thinking though 😂….he looks isolated then he looked and attacked wtf😂…..i don't know why but carpaz love to atack for no reason…..
Chris ,you have been for way to long doing an amazing job , but I believe it's time to upgrade your background and presentation- ( professionally photograph your shirts and Carrer moments ) and have a green screen or a flat screen where you can present it behind, and not having them hanging …
also get your hands in some video licence so you can use videos (not only photos)
You deserve a professional set/background, not saying your son is not doing an super job, but your insights need ('A' Production) all your followers will appreciate;)
Looking forward for Roubaix 😊😅
Brandon is looking solid…..but enric mas i love that guy he's good but i don't know what's his weakness is i just can read him very well in the race…..and EF was the worst they have the good climber at the front…but couldn't manage the riders very well….it was just awful tactics
Chris let's say you're not jumbo visma……but you're have a good team let's say(intermarche, trek,or others with decent riders)…what is the more than 5 things and tactical strategies would've change if you were a coach or team manager if you're starting a season against jumbo, uae(to choose one jumbo visma)🙏
Chris, can you palm a basketball?
more exiting that actually being there your self
Professor you get better at this announcer thing every day. This was my favorite episode so far. The editing was spot on and your son's red arrow placement was so in synch with your narration. 4 stars. As good as your race history is it is looking like you will be best know for this after a good 30 – 40 years! LOL
So at approx 6:30 into the vid, you say Ineos goes to the front and since they do not have the leaders jersey they want the stage and the break is doomed. In the moment, how do you differentiate between knuckleheadism and stage win? Because it is well organized Ineos?
There is nothing more interesting than seeing someone on the front for 20 seconds then quickly going out the back. Today it is Carapaz but usually, this is Movistar or Bahrain specialty.
Excellent analysis again, Chris: spot on. I would add that Jonas figured out the Tadeg trick: if you have the legs, attack, (maybe not full gas). Then you don't have to cover multiple attacks: rather, they have to cover you.
The race has been entertaining but I wish that Jonas would have had stronger competition to make GC more exciting.
Thanks Chris, great breakdown! Who needs a team when your rivals play right into your hands? Great job in isolation from Jonas. As
for EF, their four top guys, climbers, blow in 1k or so on a climb that gets easier up ahead. Looks a bit like coming to a party empty
handed.
And he didnt complain about Landa, just raced his race and got a win out of it.
