hate to see Sandin go As a leafs fan he was my fav Dman on the leafs in a whileeee. Think Caps are gonna help make him a lot better with then being physical. Feel bad for sandin tho him and lily were best friends sucks to separate them.

This was a very kind move by Dubas for Sandin. Sandin deserved an opportunity and Dubas traded him to a team that will give him one. Instead of being the odd man out for the rest of this year and then being a 3rd pairing D again next year, Sandin will get a chance on Washington to show what he can do. Toronto didn't need to trade him (although because of salary cap considerations, they did need to open up some space), so the biggest winner in this trade isn't Toronto or Washington, but Sandin.

Overdrive needs to make a trade. Get Poulie on this panel and trade Frankie and O Dog and the "snorting " references out!!
Sandin wasnt trusted by the coach (he was given offensive zone minutes almost exclusively) and his contract stand-off left a bad taste in the mouths of those in management. The team also needed him to be a consistently impactful top 4 guy NOW, and Sandin still needs some time. He did not have a future on the team, so long as Keefe and Dubas are around. Re-couping a first for his ass is a good piece of business.
