This was my most recent lesson with Carter. Pure gold.
you have to stop early extension thats the key
Great video thank you, what i struggle with is getting the weight to the front side in the transition as I tend to drop my head in the backswing
As confusing as it may appear, your explanation and demonstration simplifies it quite nicely. Thanks!
Great video. Not enough teachers explain the importance of ground pressure during the transition. Most focus on shallowing the club, but if your body shifts properly the club should almost automatically drop into a better position.
One of the things I struggled with when I first started golfing was initiating the swing with my arms versus with the transition. This resulted in casting the club and leading to a terrible banana ball especially with my driver. The golf pro at the course I played at happened to be watching on the first tee one day and gave me a quick lesson after I sliced my drive into the 8th fairway. After a few range sessions, I was able to achieve a fade with my driver and quite a few more yards off the tee. Later in life, I found a golf teacher that got me drawing the ball and that is my normal ball flight now. Thanks for the great tips again!
One of the best videos I've seen. Great explanation. I'll be following this simple info my next chance. Thanks Andy….
Pete Cowans Secret Transition….no longer a secret now Andy 😂😂
Bravo 👏🏼
Knowledge of the swing is very apparent. Great stuff!
Another gem Andy , hope you've got the rights to give away such valuable info , top stuff
Solid stuff Andy as ever. Keep it coming
Cheers
This is what I have the most issue with, my golf is incredibly inconsistent atm because I really haven't got any feeling or idea of how the downswing should start. I'm going to try this on my next range session and hopefully it will help.
if you over 10 handicap dont even think about it!
I've found by Presetting my wrists at address it puts you in This position and Your Body responds automatically Only in practice at The Range 👍
Great tips, thanks Andy!!
The transition in the downswing is something that I always have trouble with Pete. I will use your video to practice in stages the different parts of the body that you described. The only part that I seem to get right is the last bit, the stomach out in front at the end. 😕
Brilliant!
Another great video breaking the swing down in a very understandable way. Good stuff as always, Carter!
Really interesting. Any tweeks to this for woods??
Always good revisiting this move from someone like you who has been with Pete.
Please consider a video on this incorporating the 45deg delivery position that Pete says is the only constant of good ball striking. I have found it works great but I'm sure my understanding is minute or possibly even wrong.
I have no problem at all getting my stomach in front of my leed leg on the downswing😂😂😂😂😂 gret explanation by the way, this i just thing i am working on, the trail shoulder pushing down is a great thought, i will definately give that a try. Thanks👍
yeah if you have a stable bent trail arm thats under and in front of your chest you can pull back and up as hard as you can i dont know if this makes sense but thats how i swing
Ben hogan said start the downswing with the rotation of hips, that shifts your swing plane shallows the club and gets your upper body into the position to swing through impact. He said don't do anything worth the arms and hands. That bit just happens if your stance and back swing is good.
Great Video Andy can you tell me where I can find the video you mentioned with Peter Cowen and Lee Westwood
Great video, very informative. Quick question tho'. At what point should your left leg straighten, ? just before impact, at impact or after impact. Cheers.
Great lesson Andy, love to enquire regarding a video lesson for a senior returning golfer from down under Aussie
Cheers George
This is the same thing everyone is teaching and most golfers aren’t getting better. That should tell you something.
Wow. Together with your video on Ben Hogan's 'Magic Elbow', I think this will help out not only myself but many golfers who struggle with sway in the golf swing. I look forward to getting out on the range to do some work! Many thanks Carter!
Another great video to add to the others of late. Detailed and understandable explanations in this and the others. I watch them on my phone before trying to implement them at the driving range. Keep them coming.
Really got a lot out of this. Are you a proponent of a throw release or rolling the hands/forearms?
A random YouTube video showed that the top pros’ shoulders are at an angle of 42 degrees to the ground at the top of the backswing and 52 degrees at impact! This confirms what is shown here about driving the right shoulder towards the ground and that’s where lag and hence power comes from!
There will be something else next week. Just tee it up and hit it. Is there a swing for my bad hip, bad shoulder, sore knee. Answers on a postcard. Watch Mo Norman
