Bears brass met the media at the NFL owners meetings. Kevin Warren, Matt Eberflus & Ryan Poles spoke with Eberflus adding that “Justin Fields took a big step, and now, like the coaches, needs to take the next step.”
New President Kevin Warren adds that there’s no formal timeline on stadium development, but “ideally, it’ll be 36 months from the time the first shovel goes into the ground.” He’ll formally start his job on April 17th.
After many meetings, Bears brass agrees that there is no ‘quick fix’ and that they’ll continue to do things the right way as the Bears build their team back to prominence.
Poles said that there were 4 teams that made ‘good offers’ for the #1 pick and he picked the Carolina offer because DJ Moore was added to the draft capital. He said the first person he called was Justin Fields and he didn’t answer the phone! Poles adds that he was surprised that David Montgomery chose to sign with the Lions after he said the Bears made a good offer.
The Commanders have multiple $6 billion dollar bids, which would make them the most expensive franchise ever sold.
The Blazers are shutting down Damian Lillard for the season. Kevin Durant returns for the Suns tomorrow.
