  1. bring back the rugby, what with Eddie and haskel me me me me completely fed up with this podcast. Tindell is humble but terrible everything else. Stinks of haskell thinking he is a DJ by his 'set' at twickenham (please move the track on it was boring)!

  2. what a great guest, really good podcast!! love hask and tins shitty shoes and eddie rocks up in D&Gs

  3. would've liked to have heard less about boxing and more about hearn's ideas for rugby. this is basically him reaching out to the rugby audience on behalf of AJ/ boxing, there's plenty of eddie gifting his gab all around youtube and this was just another grain of sugar on the loaf.

  4. Great interview. I think that the smaller stories, make up the bigger picture. More like this please, great stuff, thanks for putting it together. Also liked the lack of incessant pop up ads. First one after an hour or so then got a few before the end. No problemo (thumbs up emojis)

  5. Do miss Alex but this was great, Hask on fire, knock out my own mum on a couple of snake bites was the quote.. Eddie Hearn is brilliant.. Tinds just reigned them back and threw in the one liners.. only thing missing was Joe Marlon and Scott Quinell.. 💥💥

  6. Very interesting guest.
I don't get the obsession with rugby's need for massive growth. I mean, sure, growth is necessary for clubs and all the various stakeholders to make money and for the players to get paid their fair cut from that. And yes, it does need to stay up with its competition. But the massive growth doesn't necessarily equate to success. You lose things when money takes over. You lose values, the community loses connection with players and players lose the feeling of community representation. There are other measures of success beyond numbers. I know rugby is still a long way off that but we should be careful what we wish for.

  7. Eddie is the dog balls! And he’s speaking facts, there’s hardly any publicity or none at all in rugby these days, turn on sky sports news you never see or here anything about the rugby. It’s a dying sport and is showing with our national team

  8. Interesting insight into the perception of rugby players in Eng. Very much like Australia. Private school and upper class make up. In NZ and Pacific Islands, its the poor mans game.

  9. Tinds assesment of the 1st Ruiz fight is inaccurate, he wasnt walking it, it was close, yes he'd put Ruiz down one but he wasnt hurt, hed been caught in the pocket trading before then did again. it wasnt bad luck, it was AJ not boxing well. Tinds assesment is one of someone who either didnt watch the fight or doesnt know what he was watching.

  10. James Haskell ruined this… like he does in every interview. His stupid voice and trying to be funny is tiresome.

  11. Gbr my favourite podcast and a watch them all i am ashamed to say I thought this would be boring with eddie hearn but I have to say i got it completely wrong he was funny and entertaining and i really understood his take on “no stars” if you are already a rugby fan there are plenty of stars but if not, very few rugby players cross over into mainstream as stand alone personalities joe marler would be a great example of a rugby player who is entertaining on a chat show

  12. Not too sure you can say League is bang in trouble when union prem teams are going slowly and surly bust.

  13. The problem is, the sports the Hearn's grew up in are single player sports. "Mano a Mano". You can have uncontrollable ego's, superstars, hangers on, curating a narrative etc… Rugby is a team sport, where yes, there is room for individual brilliance, but without the other 14 players on the pitch, you'd be absolutely nothing… I agree that rugby is too sterile and that could definitely be hyped up, allowing players the room to be themselves, rather than just corporate figures. But it's a very difficult balance to find. In rugby, you're literally putting your body on the line, for your team. If Shane Warne was a rugby player, would he have been tolerated? Absolutely not! But because it's cricket, he could be managed, because the risk/reward balance favoured the maverick, whereas in Rugby, are you really going to put yourself in a hard place for an arrogant "superstar"?.

Rugby needs to go the way of field hockey with punishments as this is one of the area's that's killing the game. It's not "if" but "when" a red card is going to be given, and now at the top, it's game over… It's very simple in field hockey. Professional foul / stupid infringement / backchat = 2 minutes sideline with green card immediately. Secondary offence / more dangerous foul = 5 minutes sideline with Yellow Card. Dangerous / Reckless Foul = 10 minutes sideline with Yellow Card. Red is ONLY used for deliberate physical violence, repeat Yellow Cards and/or abusing an umpire/accusing of cheating. And field hockey is a very dangerous game. No physical contact like rugby, but with a small hard ball and long hard sticks with ball speeds of up to 160km/h and a game that is very fast, a lot can happen.

And if you have to look at something in slow motion on replay over and over again, it's not "clear and obvious". Show on-field incidents in real time, so the ref gets a sense of what is actually possible or not. You can slow down a bit if you are looking at intent, but not the action as it's ridiculous…

  14. Fair comments from all about league, balanced from the hosts. I think league and union need to have a good look at the club game

  15. Eddie didn't know the Boston Red Sox played at Fenway Park.

Whilst he was standing in Fenway Park….so don't hold your breath 😂

Rugby will never be able to change whilst the Unions are run by the kind of people that hold high and medium office…

Matchroom is a very clever business, they realised early on that the money is in the tv rights.

  16. … in which the GBR lads realise how feminised their sport has become. Great episode.

  17. I thought this was absolutely brilliant. Make no mistake Hearn is an astute and ruthless businessman. Class

  18. Great conversation with Eddie, had a proper laugh and learnt quite a number of aspects from watching this.

Intriguing to hear his perspective on how the English view their current situation in rugby. As a South African, you can clearly see we are in a different boat as rugby is thriving in our country on all levels. Hopeful that changes for you 💯
