Hi I’m Matt Lockey, welcome to my Coach Lockey YouTube Channel. This YouTube channel is designed to help you play better golf, and to help you enjoy your golf more!

I specialise in golf course vlogs, golf challenges, golf tips, golf lessons, golf club reviews and the odd golf club unboxing. So pretty much everything golf!

I want to help you play better golf by providing coaching videos on all topics about golf. How to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
As well as helping you produce the best long game you can have, I will help you lower your scores by chipping better, stopping duff and thin chips, pitching the ball closer and creating backspin like the tour pros. Finally, I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts too!

  1. Coach, I have taken my 4 hybrid (21 degree) out of the bag. It was just a bit more inconsistent for me (better than my 4 iron tho) than what I replaced it with. I have put a 7 wood in the bag with the same loft and it is much more consistent.

  2. 😉 Agree Coach, for MOST ams: I recently got fitted into a Cobra Ltdx 7 Wood 😀 😀 replaced my 3/4 utility iron AND my 18deg hybrid! Down to 13 clubs what next??

  3. I still struggle hitting hybrids. I have a 18 degree hybrid. And my highest iron is a 3 iron at 20 degree. But I actually prefare hitting my 3 iron🤣 so I am thinking of changing the hybrid for a utility iron. My 3 iron are my fairway finder of the tee but it only goes 190 meters so want a club of the tee that goes further but shorter then my 3 wood. Been trying a 5 wood but it goes to high and want a club that is easy to shoot a low shoot with. Was hoping the hybrid was going to be that club.

  4. I’ve got one 19* hybrid. I take full shots, 3/4 shots, hit ‘em like a wedge, tee’d up, off the ground, choke up, choke down, flight them high, flight them low… and when I’m tired I can almost play most of a hole with it with the different shots on fairway, in the rough, etc. I guess the only thing I would struggle with is hitting a hybrid out of a green side bunker onto a green. LOL. It’s definitely the most versatile club I’ve probably got in the bag. Thanks for the assurance Coach! The only way I replace it is if I can find a 7W that’ll do the same…

  5. 7 wood is the way forward better height bigger head. Hybrid hooks and the heads too small.

  6. 3 hybrids in the bag coach, I have a 18, 21 and 25. Love them all and I start at a six iron now because when I did have a 4 and 5 iron like you said they never went further than my six.

  7. Great tips (especially the bonus tips) on a marvellous golf course! Keep it up, will definitely give your tips a try.

  8. 23 degree hybrid is a game changer for the 190-200y shots, hits so well out of bunkers aswell. After that I go 5w then Driver.

  9. Dr, 5w, 7w, hy 4 and 5, 7i – pw and 3 wedge . (50, 54 and 58) my 5i is 21 dgr and 6i 25 dgr, they are in the storage😃

  10. 23 and 26, still carry a 20 degree 3 iron, as i find it easier to hit low and left to right, useful off the tee sometimes

  11. I carry a 28 degree hybrid along with my 28 degree 6 iron. I carry more woods,(5, 7, 9) at the long end of my bag.

  12. Just got down to one based on my metrics. I have a 26* in one bag, and a 27* in another as 5i replacements. The next club in both sets is a 7w.

  13. I used to like hybrids, but wound up selling them all and adding a 5 wood and an older (used) 7 wood. I get great ball flight with both woods and find myself using that 7 wood for all of the typical “rescue” shots you mentioned in this video. Since the 7 wood is older, I don’t mind scuffing it up when punching it out of fairway bunkers, desert lies (in in Arizona), or hitting one under trees.

    Love the content, Coach! 🙌🏾
