  1. Huge thanks to cool clubs for letting me film all this!

Trottie is the man and did a great job fitting me. This was intended to figure out if I can truly play a blade!

  2. It's a tough call on clubs. What suits the eye may not be the technicality best option, but confidence over the ball is key.

The best thing about the head to head experiment, especially using the robot, is it takes the emotion out of it. Being a results driven guy, the better the numbers get, the better the club looks. It's no coincidence they had him hit the blade first and loaded into the machine first. You want the client to finish on the winner you already knew was the correct answer.

    Nice work.

  3. What happened to the P7MC trottie fit you for? Guess I'm confused why you jump from P770 to TW irons. I'm a 10 handicap playing 770s lol.

  4. Harry Higgs led at Augusta after the first day last year – he plays a full bag of P770s. If they’re good enough to be leading at Augusta, they’re good enough for you. But – it’s about what you WANT to play. 🙂

  5. At least you're self aware to understand it's an ego thing… Forget what iron it is; if it's a TW iron or not, play the iron that makes you play better golf. But also you should know this too, a 6 iron in different club models have different lofts. In that chart you can see the launch angle was 1 degree different in launch angle which also created a steeper descent. So it's just different. Now your 180 club might be a 5i instead of a 6i with the TW. It's not a bad thing.. The fitters in the beginning said it "distance is not the most important part of irons"…

  6. I struggled with the same thing, beautiful blades vs more forgiving players distance irons. In the long run I went with the P770’s and LOVE THEM!! Absolutely stunning clubs that look as close to a blade without being a blade and I have more confidence behind them. P770’s I think are the clear winner here. Make golf easier not harder!

  7. Ego will be the end of you. Get the extra yards and forgiveness why not? I shoot 100 though… so….. I can’t really say. Lol

  8. P770 is stronger lofted. That’s why they go further. Why did no one say that in the video?

  9. Both great options! I would suggest playing a round with both. I don’t think those 5-10 yards are that big of a difference. You may do better with 5-10 less. All I’m saying is those TW’s are winning for a reason.

  10. With modern irons and the way manufacturers set the lofts I would seriously ignore the number written on it. The manufacturers know it too. If a set is generally shorter, cluib for club, they may offer a 3 iron through PW whereas a hotter set may offer a 4 iron through GW. Thanks marketing… do we really need to do this? In general I care about two things… first, does the set cover the min to max distance I want, and second, does it do it with the right number oif clubs (is the gapping right)? If you like the TW's, you hjit them well, and they meet the above criteria I'd game them. Good luck!

  11. Great video. But I’d seriously reconsider the mbs I really love mine and feel they carry similarly to my 770s I had previously and gives you the workability

  12. A. Put your ego aside. B. Once you decide, stick with it. Don’t switch back, give yourself a the time for a true evaluation. C. Enjoy the journey.

  13. Fun video and Cool Clubs continues to be on the forefront of club fitting technology.

    A few thoughts though…

The problem that most low handicap golfers have with blades like the P7TW model is that they either don't control the spin well enough and/or they don't generate enough speed. From all of the research I've done, I think there's an argument to be made that blades provide better directional control (likely due to spin loft being higher) and they are better at not air-mailing greens, but the disadvantage is that they will miss short of the green more. This is particularly worrisome on North American style courses that often times penalize players that miss short. Players like Tiger, Fleetwood, Scheffler, etc. can use the P7TW irons effectively because they generate quality speed and can keep the spin down when they need to (i.e. hitting into the wind). A player like Webb Simpson who has slower speed but still is a great iron player using blades is likely doing it by his ability to keep the spin rate from getting out of control.

While I like the idea of the robot testing, basing what clubs to use off distance only is incomplete and you don't even really need to do the testing because obvious the P770's are going to go further. I would have the testing be based off dispersion and gapping instead. And I would have try to see if they can test the robot to hit shots with an open face (say roughly 5* open at impact) combined with center and toe strikes with that open face. Mainly because the short-push miss is the #1 killer for iron play for high level golfers. I think with that and hitting the entire set of clubs throughout the bag on the robot would give you results that show distance, gapping and dispersion to best decide what clubs to use.

  14. does this take into account that the p770 6 iron is 2 degrees stronger than the p7tw?

  15. Nobody uses blades anymore it's not cool like it used to be but it's also not cool to use your friends to become famous on YouTube then the moment your channel hits a number you like you drop them like there not the reason people even know your name and you did that So it's hard for me to say go with what makes you more YouTube famous.

  16. I love how he carried his driver shaft everywhere he went. Like his child or something. That had me dying.

  17. Dude. I swear to god. Get a new videographer. Hes got the camera swinging everywhere and then its up everyone's nose and in their eyeballs…shit man.

  18. I don’t love Taylormade irons. I feel they are missing a p760. I think the p7mc is your club. They other blade is great too. If I wanted a blade, I would game Taylormades. Tigers irons are too weak

  19. Bro, you're a scratch golfer and you're asking us what club to get AND you know yardage is an ego thing… get the club that operates best for you. Distance is not important when you just grab the next goofy stick with a different number. You have some of the best fitters and engineers in the world at your disposal. Dude says distance isn't as important as the other data… BUT you think you know better. Interesting

  20. Damn I didn’t know irons can jump from 170 to 220. This makes me feel a lot better lol

  21. Great video, I think what a lot of people don’t realise is that it’s so hard to fit someone perfectly within a couple of hours. You’ll often take the clubs on course and then realise different things from there. I’m sure the Kingdom did a great fitting but there’s nothing like taking the clubs on course
