Tiger is the pga tours savior. If it wasn’t for him and Rory God knows where that organization would be.
I for one support LIv but love the pga tour and am glad these two stepped in —or on Monahan— to save the day. They are making some mistakes thou, like turning the best full field events on tour into limited field events.
But again I do wish tiger and Rory did not have this war like mentality going still.
They need to understand in the world you cannot guilt trip people —by crying about loyalty to political issues — from handling their business that is best for them. The only way To do that is with good business- and the Tour had its chance.
I don’t know why tigers is soooo aggressive against LIv as it is clear Thomas Pieters lost Steiny for that reason. Tiger is not the biggest fan of his people working with other players anyway. I do think right after pieters Rory and tiger have softened their stance on LIv a bit.
Tiger is pretty safe in 3 majors for a long while. The US Open is a bit tougher but they do give special invites; although they are notoriously tough with them as I remember the King himself wanted one and did not get it from the usga. But I do think tiger in his late 40s to mid 50s would if needed. Phil is deserving of at least 1 imo.
But I don’t think will need one anytime soon. Tiger is not quite ready to play more but imo tiger will play more in the future. And he will play champions tour in his 50s while continuing to play majors all the way to 60.
I see tiger getting healthier and healthier with that leg. I’m very hopeful he will find himself walking comfy more and more. It won’t be the good old days but if tiger can just walk-which it’s trending better all the time- his swing is still intimidating.

At the end of the day things are good for golf imo. It would be nice if more LIv guys played the biggest events on tour and if more Tour loyalists stoped with all the Nonsense and took part in LIv.
If that happens they would be giving us fans the best of both worlds. So if it is about the fans getting the best product, this potential compromise is more important than anything. Right ?
He is exempt in the master, the open and pga championship basicly for life….only the us open exemption does run out after 5 or 10 years

Tiger's appeal is fading because he hardly plays now. Also I don't think Jack's record really means anything to him anymore, probably hasn't for years despite what he says on camera.Tiger has only won 1 major in the past 14 years so I think that proves the whole romantic notion of beating Jack's major record lost it's appeal to him somewhere along the way. All that money, all those ho0k3r$ and all those prescription drugs probably had a part to play. Beating Mickelson's 'oldest major winner' record probably has genuine appeal to him now though….

Its interesting how a year ago Tiger was declared a hero for the increased prize money on the PGAT. So, now is Phil and Greg doing to be applauded for the substantial increase in prizemoney? I doubt it.
PGA won’t last long when they roll the balls back to fly shorter. Players will leave to LIV.

Wow it is funny how Rory and Tiger act like they are the ones that know what to say and what is morally right just because they can put a little white ball into a hole in the ground. I wish these guys would shut up and play golf.
Tiger dropped Pieters as a Steinberg client not Steinberg. If Tiger says jump, Steinburg's answer better be "How high?" Eldrick is Steinberg's goose that lays golden eggs. He's not going to risk losing him to another agent/agency. I also think this was a power play by Woods. Rory has been getting a lot of attention and taking up the mantle of carrying the PGAT's water and being the face of the tour but this was Tiger flexing his muscles and reasserting himself as the "Don" of professional golf.
Tiger has a lifetime exemption on the PGA Tour due to playing over 15 years and having 20 plus wins on tour. He has exemption to the PGA Championship and Masters by virtue of past champion status. He can also play the Open Championship with exemption until age 60 (essentially a lifetime exemption) for past champion status. His exemption to the US Open runs out this year (exempt from 2019 Masters win) so he would have to qualify next year by other means (winning '23 US Open, placing top 10 in '23 US Open, winning another major this year, or winning enough PGA Tour events to qualify. Otherwise he would have to compete in regional qualifiers to get in which he's unlikely to do.
Why does he care? Wrong question. Why do you care what the despicable Eldrick does. The only thing Eldrick did well was Golf; he was/is a disgusting lout in everything else.
Even if Tiger wanted to play The Memorial, it’s a tough walk. Not sure his body could handle it.
