My cheat stick, back in the day, was a Callaway C4 driver with a Proforce 75 shaft. I probably gave up 20 yards to some other drivers, because it spun around 4000 rpm, lol, but it was the best fairway finder I ever had, until the head cracked on the bottom of the face by the sole.
Picked up a an Adam's XtD 1 hybrid. Off the tee It goes very close to driver distance with more control and great ball flight.

Do a video of older used clubs to look for. As a beginner not trying to go broke it would help a lot
Years ago I had a Forgan 7 wood absolutely loved that club till the head came off 😢😢😮
That’s hopefully me on Sunday at silloth with my 2 iron.
Wise words.
I've got the Wilson staff plus the g400 crossover….cant make my mind up which one to sell…..🙈
My cheat stick is the 7 wood. I use it for most fairway shots outside of 150 yards. I can get to the green on most par 5's with a driver and two 7 woods. Good enough for this high handicapper. It's my putting that kills my score now.
I (also) keep a long putter and periodically take it out to work on my putting stroke. To me it is absolutely the best and simplest way to understand, improve and maintain good putting technique.
I watched your drivers to the grave episode and treated myself to the Taylor made M2 , 2016 driver for £115.00p , what a bargain and 30 yards + more distance , 44.25 stiff shaft , worth every penny , could this count as a cheat stick , thankyou Simon.
I have a titleist U510 4 Utility iron. Absolutely brilliant club.
Replaced my 4 iron with a cobra F7 7 wood. Shot my lowest round by 4 shots first time out
My cobra 7 wood with a 5 wood shaft absolute weapon
I like your videos. You help balance cost vs value.
But, with this club, I don't have the swing speed that you do so I would be concerned about spending money for a club that might go about as far as my hybrid. I'm thinking about how I could test clubs like to see if I could even use it.
I have the 18* Wilson Staff and it is amazing. Nice to pull this on the first tee to get the round started stress free 👍🏼
Simon, my cheat stick is a 7 wood. I looked for months for a used 7 wood and with the resurgence on tour of the 7 wood they were hard to come by. I found some in good to fair condition for $220-250 USD (insane for a 3-5 year old club). I ended up going with a new G430 which I got for the same price (I got a very good discount). It is the easiest, most confidence inspiring club I have ever hit. I do not play in a lot of wind so that is also a factor.
Great video. Currently browsing ebay for all of them 😂. Most keen to try a 7 wood though. I'm a struggling novice.
I’d like to try a driving iron but I doubt my 95-99 mph driver speed I’d fast enough
ow my word simon… what are the odds of you making this video. Not only have you repeatedly described my swing throughout this video… i have the wilson on its way to me as i ordered it 2 days ago.
i also use a callaway epic speed with an inch shorter shaft as per your example…
Seeing as iv got a second hand one coming… do you know if i could bend it a degree or 2 upright to suit my spec??
I built a mizuno jpx 6iron 3°flat with a 35" x-stiff .
Great around the greens.
Is there a way I can add an armlock grip to my current putter??
Wilson or Srixon zu85 thought’s?
I just picked up a second Cobra King Utility (3 iron) for my practice bag. I love that it’s adjustable as I was able to change it from 18* to 21* when I added a 5 wood to improve my club gapping. The 5 wood is now my 18* so the Cobra at 21* now slots neatly between it and my 24* 4 iron. I like the Cobra so much that I sold the Miura ICL-601 driving iron that I previously had.
Started playing a combo set of j33 Bridgestone irons that came with the 2&3 driving irons and really liking them always been a hybrid guy but now starting to use the longer irons with success
Ping G3 7 wood was $12.99 at PGA Superstore is my cheat stick and I love it.
