  1. Even though he was a toxic figure, had we bought a few outfield players Summer 2015, Ozil would have a premier League trophy to go with four FA cups. Then he would undeniably be regarded as an Arsenal legend….not so much now 😢

  2. Are we seriously trying to make a case for him? He scored one Hatrick against a joke of a side. We should have kept Sanchez. We made the wrong decision sadly

  3. As for balogun he’s gone. Jesus will struggle to get a start with trossard doing what he’s doing. Balogun didn’t exactly sound happy when asked about us. He’s gone.

  4. Sorry Harry, I meant Fresneda on the right inverted and Tierney (not white) as the left full back. Wouldn’t that be like what Zinny and White do but on opposite sides if that makes sense?

  5. Excellent contender and excellent content. Please smash the likes people and it’s always good to have a healthy debate with Harry on arteta in or arteta out

  6. Ozil was a lazy piece of shite, him starting an away game for us against one of the top sides was liking starting with only 10 players on the pitch.

  7. Ozil is NOT an Arsenal legend. Legends don't behave like Ozil did. Not sure he is a legend anywhere. Ray Parlour is an Arsenal legend. When we signed Ozil it was odd and he certainly wasn't one of the best players in the world at the time. I never bought into it. Fabregas was better, gave more and he is no legend either!

  8. Mesut Özil will never be an Arsenal legend. The way he treated the club and held them hostage after he got his 350k per week deal was abysmal. He started off as a great contributor to the team and ended up as a cancer. Fuck him.

  9. Hi Harry, as always, great analysis about Mesut Ozil’s legacy at Arsenal. I remember how disappointing it was when Ozil left Arsenal. I believe Cristiano Ronaldo expressed his concern that the player who provided the most assists to him at Real Madrid at that time was leaving for Arsenal. There are some amongst the current Arsenal team could become legends.

  10. From this position we should win the league, this excuse making has to stop we have to expect the most from our team.

  11. Nah, he isn't. It's pretty easy to quantify what makes a legend of the club
    – commitment to the cause
    – skill and enjoyable to watch
    – positive influence in games and on the team
    – contribution to silverware
    – likeability
    – leadership
    – leave the club with grace
If you tick all these boxes you're basically a legend

  12. He was legendary during his first 2-3 seasons & a magical player to watch play.
Signing him was a key reason to see Arsenal winning silverware again & a huge pull for other elite players to join us, like Alexis Sanchez.
Unfortunately, the last couple of seasons tainted his legacy for varied reasons, not all because of him.
So yeah, a magical player in his heyday but not a club legend.

  13. I think that the Fresneda question was more about being able to keep the same system but switch it around and invert what the fullbacks do?
In that scenario, you'd have a strong LB who's experienced as CB, Kieran Tierney, doing what White currently does and Fresneda on the RB/midfield doing what Zinny currently does.
You keep the same tactics but apply them from the other side to confuse the opponent, destabilise their defensive strategy. 🙂
