I think this is getting over blown. It seems that the US are doing a meet and greet with Balogun. Show him behind the scenes, have him meet some of the US players etc. and have him watch the game on Monday in an attempt to woo him. I don't think he is going to commit right now. He is just checking out his options. We don't have a permanent coach yet. I think he would want to wait to know who the US coach is before he commits.
I get it, we don't have a good #9. But, it is also obvious that he doesn't want to play with us. I think it is about time we let him and allow him to make his choice. We are acting too desperate, and it's getting embarrassing at this point. Leave him be lol

He got to play for USA at least to have a chance to play in WC. What if England does qualify to next WC. If they run into bad luck or don't play good. Italy ran into those problems last qualifying..

To a certain extent I get why Southgate wouldn't call Balogun up right now. He's coaching in a competition and when you are more in "win now" mindset, you need guys whom you trust more to produce. I get why you would take more experienced Strikers who have proven it in the PL(guys like Ivan Toney, hell even Ollie Watkins) over playing in France. France is maybe 5th best league. France teams have really weak defense. Lacazette has been tearing it up and he would be lucky to sniff 10 goals in the PL now. So I don't know how much weight I would put in for scoring a lot in France. Might as well wait to see what Balogun does in PL or Italy or Spain before seeing how good he is- if I were Southgate. But hey that's better for USMNT, so I'm good with it. Ha
Tac there are a number of coincidences that leave a trail of breadcrumbs that suggest he was snubbed by the English National team on multiple occasions and is seriously looking into his options with the US National team. He declined going to the England U-21s and instead flew to the where the US Nats are playing. This suggests he and his agent will have discussions with the USMNT. If he visits the Nats and attends the game against El Salvador those have to be very good signs. If he is significantly down on the England Forward depth chart, then playing for the host nation for the 26 World Cup is a very, very good move.
Ngl, as an American, it kinda hurts that we are Balogun's side chick. Maybe, he wants to hit us up now and again. But really it's his main chick he is holding out for. Make a decision Balogun! Don't play with our feelings.😢
I can't believe England didn't call up Balogun. He deserves a spot on the England roster IMO. Hoping we have a shot at him!
