How New York Jets can take back power in Aaron Rodgers trade | Pro Football Talk | NFL on NBC

As a Packer's fan, I'd be satisfied with them not trading Rodgers if they can't get decent compensation. Let that bomb go off and see where the debris lands, and the Jets can ride with Carson Wentz.
If I was Rodgers and actually wanted to play for the Jets. I would call the Packers to the plate and say you know I changed my mind. I will report to the Packers and let them realize the $60 million cap hit. The Packers have to be cap compliant and Rodgers could bend them over.
5:34 nobody noticed he called Rodgers Favre by accident lol
Now take this second round pick and like it.
As a Die hard Jets fan for over 50 yrs, I love the way you guys are thinking. We need to go full N.Y. attitude on the Green Bay Packers.
Stephen A knows nothing about football
How the hell does Chris Sims have a job
Love it!!!
Think Chris Simms is the best former NFL player who became TV analyst right now. He's not always right, but I like his film analysis and inside info. I want to see Simms go on the Robert Mays podcast. I'd love to see them go back and forth.
“Full blown butthole” best quote by Florio, ever…
Mark Murphy seems completely incompetent
Be cause the old jets want HOF, QB, for free !!!!! Ain’t no trade old jets !!! Arod, still on contract you ain’t get him for free just kiss your season goodbye jets for being cheap is not going to happen !!!!!
Lol he called Aaron “Favre” 5:35
1:50 Florio is making sensible points with regards to Rodgers/NYJ/GB, however there is one thing he's failing to consider: the fact that Rodgers himself said he was "90 percent retiring" at one point. Who's to say Rodgers gets fed up with the entire process and decides to just walk away from it all? That's definitely something he's capable of doing; his aloofness must not be overlooked here…hes the Diana Ross of NFL QBs.
Spot on!! 100%
Give the packers a 2nd round pick plus zach Wilson. Maybe the packers can coach him up.
I really can’t hear any more about Lamar and Rodgers
I think this Podcast. Using vulgar language is unacceptable thank you need to be removed from youtube
I say swap 13 and 15, 2 second round pick this year from Jets, and 3 round pick as conditional pick. If he plays 2025, then it turns into 2 round pick.
Jets gotta drop that 1st round pick like ya girl gotta drop that neck! We ain’t taking nothing less ..
Crazy?? If I'm Gutenkust, I openly discuss starting Aaron Rodgers at QB for the Packers next year.
You guys couldn't be more wrong. Speaking figuratively. The car is mine. If you want to buy my car, you need to pay MY price. I don't care what the car says or thinks. The car can go back to that hole it crawled out of a few weeks ago because. it's under contract to me. Give me what I want for the car or you can go back to that tricycle you drafted in the first round last year! Now Gutenkust played this all wrong in saying we need to trade AR. BG needs to come out and state that the Pack might keep AR and start him in 2023. That's how you keep full leverage. I know you guys don't like this but this is why the Jets have earned the right to draft early QB's evry year.
The boys are 100% spot on. I have been saying since the word leverage was coined that the Pack have none. The Pack can stall but it does not get better for them because – that week 1 full $59 million is an immovable object and the Packers ARE not an irresistible force. They are balsa wood. The Jets can also pull up stakes if they so choose fully acknowledging the alternatives won't be as good as Rodgers but they ain't forfeiting games like Pack fans think. I have criticized Jets brain trust but even I give them more credit than to think THIS is their ONLY plan and if they don't get Rodgers Douglas is going to march into Woody's office and commit hari-kari. Jets can weather because Jets want to do a trade but don't need to. Pack NEED to. If Rodgers shows up for work and gets hurt? Ka. Boom. I want Rodgers bad but Jets are assuming ALL the risk and with the risk (age, playing time, contract, draft pick comp) that does NOT equate to ANY first rounders. Hell it should not equate to ANY second rounders BUT I will offer Pack 2024 2nd, 2025 3rd (no conditions) and Corey Davis. Those are premium picks. Stafford only cost those picks because Lions took that god awful Goff contract on. Pack is shedding salary and Jets are taking it on. Pack need to realize this is NOT Russell Wilson and Deshaun Watson – which were both AWFUL deals for Broncos and Browns. It is absolutely time to bring Tony Soprano and pauline Walnuts into the negotiations.
The Packers haven’t spent any money this offseason. How do we know they don’t say we are prepared to pay him and have him sit?
Good points from my two favorites, as usual. Florio and Sims always knock it out of the park.
Before Rodgers went on McAfee:
"Rodgers said he wasn't going to drag this out but here we are"
"The Jets and Packers have a deal worked out and everyone is just waiting on Rodgers"
After Rodgers went on McAfee:
"The Packers and Jets have their heels dug in and there's no deal yet"
The NFL talking heads lied then moved on like they didn't get anything wrong. It's all about narrative with these people. They want to be in the spotlight bringing the scoop so bad they create false narratives to appear like they actually know something.
