Green Bay has all the leverage. Jets have gone all in on Rodgers, and if for some reason the deal doesn't happen, the cap hit is BETTER for Green Bay.
I really wish greeny wasn't on ESPN, I used to like mike and mike but ESPN has become garbage
Rodgers is stretching this out longer than a K-drama.
Greeny giving the Jets fans the business for being stupid did it for me!!! 😂😅 We would definitely be Top 5 of the best players they’ve ever had even at this age!
I can only as a packer fan we get a clean front office house. Good bye to Mark, guty, and Jordan love it would be an answer of prayers and when they draft ever offensive weapon they can will prove they did everything to destroy Aaron's tail end of his career
For the Jets, if this doesn't fall through, they lose their chance at going to a super bowl. They go back to being a crappy 6-11/7-10 team. The GM and the coaching staff get fired next year after their contracts end due to a lack of success, because they don't have a QB. They go back to their endless search for a franchise QB that can at least get them to the playoffs, let alone one shot at a super bowl. The Jets have no other options for QB right now. If they don't get Aaron Rodgers, the only plan B is Lamar Jackson: an injury prone QB who's demanding a record contract, is the only option and the cost to get him is astronomical. If they do that trade for Lamar Jackson and it doesn't work out, it could cost the Jets negatively for a decade. Lamar Jackson is also unlikely to get them to the super bowl. Also, the Jets fan base and players are so excited and expecting to get Aaron Rodgers at this point, they are fantasizing about a Jets super bowl victory. If they don't get this done, and give Packers what they want, Met Life Stadium in New York will be burnt down and their owner is going to have to come up with $1.5 billion to build a new stadium in New York.
Ultimately from the Packers point of view, they aren't giving Aaron Rodgers for little in return. This is Aaron Rodgers and it gives Jets a very real chance at winning the super bowl over the next few years. The Packers have already budgeted in Aaron Rodgers contact for this next year. If the trade doesn't work out, it's not the end of the world for the Packers. They eat his contract next year, Jordan Loves first year as a starter, so no big expectations, and Aaron Rodgers retires as only ever a Packer. The Packers already have their QB in Jordan Love. Most Packers fans would be happy either way, and from the Packers view point, it's a win, win no matter the outcome.
Woof! This segment was rough. From Pat calling the previously mentioned GM Ted THOMPSON Ted Turner to …. completely and ignorantly bypassing teams negotiating. 😊
Just a bit🤏of bias 😂
The packers have ALL the leverage!
Go Pack Go!
This makes two years now in my life time rooting for the jets
Amazing how, throughout the years. Most of the time, players, media agents want said team to lay down take less. This whole time Aaron has said he feels wronged by the business side of greenbay. Well, feelings dont win superbowls. We as packer fans seen that repeat episode. Leave the feelings by the door. Greenbay get every pick and every cent for Aaron you can. Fate could show Aaron what it's like without football this year. It's plausible and possible. Greenbay holds the best hand in this card game. Aaron's uncle Kenny Rodgers said, you gotta know when to hold'em know when to fold'em know when to walk away know when to run. You all know the song. 🙂
Brady did alot more and was more team friendly than Rodgers.
Packers have all the leverage
Sounds like the jets don’t believe in Rodgers enough to trade draft picks for him
No leverage? They can make him sit his butt on the bench. Hes gonna go to the Jets and play 1 season. He just dont wanna retire the same year as Brady.
The packers have leverage in spite of Rogers not because of him, if rogers planned to leave he wouldn’t of signed his last deal, he’s suddenly looked at the packers roster and realised his deal left the packers hamstring on getting him the help he wants, so the jets have more talent and want rogers well the packers know they can play hardball the same way rogers did
So who wins the next Super Bowl Jets or Packers love vs Rodgers
Everyone tries to compare Rodger's situation to Brady's. The difference is Brady played his contract out, so of course he is free to go. Rodgers just signed a mega deal 1 year ago. Completely different situation. I don't even know why they bring it up.
Easy trade- Jets eat 1/2 cap hit – so Pack doesn’t have to wait.
Swap 1st rounds
Grab. WR
Swap 2 Rd PickA
Conditional 2 and 4
24
Win win – LFG!
Except Tom Brady was a free agent when he left NE and he never made $58mill in a TWO year span.
As a packers fan, I would rather we force Aaron to retirement then sending him to New York for a measly day 2 pick.
Jets are nuts if they don't give up Pick #13 for a 4 Time MVP with 2 of those being in 2 of the last 3 years. He was hurt last year. Jets have been to the Super Bowl once. You need to roll the dice and take a shot at it again when you have the chance. 1/2 the first round picks end up being busts anyway. No guarantees at #13 by any means. Seems like Jets are trying to get Rodgers for basically free if they think a 4th round pick is going to do it. Making a trade involves risks on both sides not just one side. Worked out well for the Rams and not well for the Broncos. The compensation for Rodgers if they give up #13 is not even close what the other two teams gave up for Quarterbacks not even as good as Rodgers.
Packers would be stupid to trade Rodgers. Whatever Aaron said about wanting to play for the Jets he is under contract. No way he doesn’t play this year and will do his best to get Packers to the Super Bowl. He’ll certainly give Pack a far better chance than Love. It’s a no-brainer. No trade!
Let me simply ask this, if the Packers DONT have leverage then what is the leverage the Jets have over them?
You wouldn’t have a single answer, it would all revolve around GreenBay themselves nothing the Jets have or can do is actual leverage in the situation other than offering enough to get him.
Greeny just made up for the missing Adam Gase comments he made last year because in my mind he’s 100% right. David Carr was my first choice but you have to be excited about the fact that Rodgers wants to play for the Jets. It speaks to the talent they have been drafting over the past couple of years. There’s nothing negative about having an all time great wanting to play for your team and our fan base needs to realize that!
The Jets NEED Rodgers, they need this trade. The Packers do not.
Who the hell is Ted turner it’s Ted Thompson buddy
Rogers has flamed out in the playoffs most recently…definitely an improvement but…we shall see…it'll be very interesting regardless 😊
I wanna listen to more of this dude
"I need an angry Aaron Rodgers." That one had me laughin' pretty good. 🤣🤣🤣
PACKERS HAVE TO TRADE HIM. HE DOESN’T WANT TO PLAY FOR THEIR POVERTY FRANCHISE ANYMORE. WHAT DONT YALL DELUSIONAL PACKER FANS GET.
Packers have all the leverage. There's 3 scenarios that will play out, him getting traded is the worst case scenario for Packers fans as far as I see it so they might as well get what they want or they keep their 4-time MVP, Super Bowl winning quarterback who's worst season is still a top 3 season for a Jets QB.
Is Wright going for a great value Kylo Ren or professor at Hogwarts? Can't really tell.
😂😂😂 McAfee and the Jets fans think they have leverage. Sorry you have 0 leverage. We would gladly pay Aaron his money to sit on the bench or retire. We've already moved on to Jordan Love so what's the rush? We are already going to be paying Aaron anyway and if we trade him post June 1 we can spread his salary cap hit out into the next two seasons. So if we don't get what we want from the Jets let him retire and enjoy playing Zach Wilson at QB again. 🤣 The NYJ fan base would flip if they didn't get Aaron now so what leverage do you have?
